I'm forwarding this question:
Do anyone know if Oldemar Da Silva Ramos who raced in South America in the early 40s is a relative to Formula 1 driver Hermano Joao Da Silva Ramos?

Thanks!

... and what was the relation of both to Hélio Ramos, who appeared in a few Brazilian races in 1947/48? (By the way, Oldemar also raced post-war!)

I've asked my Brazilian friend Antonio buarque who answered this following :

< I am not sure, but I do not think that the racing drivers Hermano João da Silva Ramos ("Nanô"), Oldemar da Silva Ramos and Hélio Ramos are relatives.
The French-Brazilian Hermano was born at Paris, in 1925, from a Brazilian father, Edgard da Silva Ramos, and a French mother. He started to race cars in Rio de Janeiro city, in 1948, in the street circuit of Praça Paris.
According to a Jean-Paul´s [J-P Lajarrige] note at Internet, on 2/4/2000, Hermano lives in France, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, but the the author stated that the information may be dated. Perhaps Hermano himself may clarify whether he is or not a relative to the other two racing drivers.
According to Paulo Scali, Oldemar da Silva Ramos was born at the town of Macaé, State of Rio de Janeiro. Oldemar started to race in the late 1930s. He was a good pilot, but not among the most famous in Brazil. He was the first Brazilian who won a car race in Argentina (in 1942, in the Circuit of Retiro), and the only one for more than 30 years, until E. Fittipaldi won the F1 Buenos Aires GP in 1973, with a Lotus-Ford. I have phoned to Macaé, to possible relatives of Oldemar, and the only thing I discovered is that there is a gentleman there, born in 1936, who has the same name of the pilot, but has no relation with the latter.
Hélio Ramos was an obscure Brazilian pilot, who raced soon after WW II.
Best regards,
Antonio>>

... just to correct a little error, before it enters into the records:
Oldemar da Silva Ramos was indeed the first Brazilian to win a race in Argentina. However, this did not happen at Retiro, but he won the 2° Premio Ciudad de Santa Fe, held at the "circuito de 'la avenida de los Siete Jefes'" on May 3rd, 1942: In qualifying José Canziani with the 3.8 Alfa Romeo 308 had been fastest, followed by Ramos in the ex-Arzani, ex-Nascimento 3.8 Alfa Romeo 8C-35. There were three heats held - for up to 3.4 litre, for 3.4 to 4.5 litres and for over 4.5 cars - but I don't know the results. In any case, the first four of each moved up into the final over 30 laps on the 3.225 km track:
1st Oldemar da Silva Ramos, 3.8 Alfa Romeo 8C-35, 51m 39.9s
2nd José Canziani, 3.8 Alfa Romeo 308, 52m 21.2s
3rd Adriano Malusardi, 3.2 Alfa Romeo P3
4th Pablo Luis Pessati, 2.9 Alfa Romeo P3
5th Eric Forrest Greene, 1.5 Maserati 6CM
6th Rodolfo Martini, Ford, - 2 laps
For a short race report, see Carozzo's Fangio biography ...
By the way, as pictures in Scali's Landi book show, Oldemar was a rather small, slim chap, but with an impressive big and sharp moustache!
