Well, is anyone around here still playing GP2? It is afterall a fantastic game. I recently dug out my old copy (more accurately I found it by accidnet down the back of a bookshelf) and booted it up. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's no GPL, but it's an absolute blast. If you can forgive the shaky visuals. Solid as a rock gameplay wise.
If anyone is still playing it, perhaps we could start up and Atlas PBEM GP2 championship? I nice leisurly racing series for those who can only play for a few minuits at a time. What dya reckon?

Absolutely!!! With all the carsets, carshapes and circuits that are available, I still have many seasons to run.
Where else could I drive my own Connew in a 1972 Championship series????
My only regret is that people seem to have stopped drawing up new tracks. I wish I had time and ability to do it myself.

I update all the tracks and cars and stuff off the internet and I wouldn't mind racing in a online league if anyone knows of one....

I have an old notebook in which I can not install GP4 due to the lack of processor/video requirements, and a friend with an old desktop in the same "ice age" hardware.
Hot seat is fun but race against each other is better, I think...
Many thanks in advance,

Yeah I used to play it all the time, but I got tired of it 'cos
a) You cant chose your tyre compound
b) The weather never changes
c) The AI cars choose really stupid fuel strategies (Like 1-stopping around Barcelona) Which meant I often won far too easily simply by 2-stopping.
Are there any patches for the above problems?
And...
What's GP4 like? Any good?
Cheers,
Nath

I played GP4 for sometime, but I just couldn't feel it when I was approaching the limits of the car as well as I could in EA's F1C, so I gave up on it after a few months and am currently using F1C as my modern-F1 platform of choice.

Hey Mike, GP2 is classified as abandonware now and available at www.classic-gaming.net
and www.gprix2.com has a bunch of mods for it.
