I often notice photos bearing the name "T.C March"- mainly in Anthony Pritchard books, I think.

It's Tom March, I have been told. Anyone know the status of any collection of his works?

Can I try again with this please??

What photo collections for research purposes do any of you know, besides:

Ferret Fotographics (the most accessible, and well known to TNFers)
LAT
The Grand Prix Collection
Ludvigsen Collection.
National Motor Museum
Sutton

Experiences with these? Others...?

There is also the German P3 Motorsport Photos.
Mainly Nuerburgring photos, also Spa and Zandvoort. Cars and motorcycle.
Interesting prices compared to Sutton.
LAT is interesting for colour photos but I don't order anymore there as their photos are now
published in many magazines.
In France Maurice Louche has an always growing photo library, he has also many projects
of new books.

I must have missed your original post
Pritchard owned the March collection, then sold it to one Chris Perkins (from whom I bought some prints about 10 years ago). Perkins races a Surtees (IIRC) in historic F1 events, so should be traceable, though I don't know if he still has the archive.
Ted Ferret would know

I think that Pritchard might still own ????? them.I tried without any joy to buy them from Chris Perkins several years ago.I am about to move another step forward into the 21st Century, which might mean posting an image or two over the coming winter. Out of my2 Million plus images I should be able to find a few "teasers"

For photos of the Le Mans 24 hour race, Washington Photo in Le Mans have a very comprehensive collection - 65000 images or so, indexed by car number and year. From my own experience of dealing with them, helpful and respond rapidly, but quite expensive.

Our GP Library is available for (almost) anybody to come and hunt by appointment though we are not in Ted's business of offering prints generally for sale - being more oriented towards providing publishers. The GP Library preserves the Geoffrey Goddard, Franco Lini, Zooom Photographic and Nigel Snowden (colour material post 1988) archives plus a mass of other swag. Matt and Di Spitzley's associated collection preserves the Franco Zagari archive which includes all that fantabulous 'tween-wars Italian material seen in the 'Scuderia Ferrari' and 'Maserati' books, etc. Geoff Goddard and I between us hold around 900 pre-WW1 glass-plate negs dating back to 1902.

I stumbled across this thread while searching for information on Franco Lini
The TC (Tom) March Collection is still owned by Anthony Pritchard and copies are available on the FotoVantage website on:

The Kelemantaski website includes a downloadable list of all the events for which they hold photos. If you send them a reasonably specific request stating what you are looking for, they will let you know whether they hold anything that matches, with a description of the image. If you purchase anything from them, they are expensive but in my experience the service and the quality are excellent.

Thank you, jph, for the nice plug. We own most of Tom March's color work.
