I don't know if it will be any good but it should be interesting to see what kind of machinery is there.

Sounds like a great idea and I am hoping to go - as are most of the historic racing people I've talked to.
Even better if I can do the show on Friday and the Pomeroy Trophy on Saturday.

As no one else has aswered this I will have a go. From maps I have it looks to be slightly nearer to Coventry than LS. About 5 miles.Unless you are coming from the west, Coventry should be a better bet anyway-better train service. I might be coming myself.Originally posted by petefenelon
I might be able to get down on the Saturday. How far is Stoneleigh from either Coventry or Leamington stations? (I can't be bothered with a driving licence... leave that to the racing folk).

Be sure to stop by the Chevron Racing Ltd. stand - with a bit of luck, they'll have their new website up and running and available for display.
"The International Historic Motorsport Show is not just a static exhibition. Some of the 'activity' highlights:
An Auction of important cars, motorcycles and motorsport memorabilia by H&H Classic Auctions.
On Saturday 21 February; A Live Rally Stage with drivers like Stig Blomqvist, Pentti Airikkala, Tony Fall, Russell Brookes and Rosemary Smith in action.
Saturday and Sunday 21/22 February; Motorsport Business Briefings on such topical matters as the new FIA Historic Passports, government support for the motorsport industry and race circuit economics.
The inaugural Historic Motorsport Awards Charity Dinner on Saturday 21 February, hosted by Amanda Stretton, with Stuart Turner as guest speaker."

Some of my original paintings will be on display including my recent work "Ronnie Remembered" of the JPS lotus 72 in classic Peterson pose through Woodcote. Please pop over and say Hi!
I was at John & Gary Pearson's race shop this morning. Their Group C Jaguar was having a good polish ready for an appearance at the show. Should be good and as pointed out, most of the historic racing fraternity will be in attendance.
See you there!

May I be so bold as to ask if you mind my mailing that image to cousin Peter, as we have very few 'on track' pictures of the car?

Forgive me, but aren't you the photographic contribiutor of various Snetterton images to another forum?
Did you see the recent "Please! Some happy Snetterton Memories" thread?
Ignore "the other lot" How about seeing some of your great pictures on TNF?

Thanks for the kind offer David, at the moment it looks like I probably won't be able to make it.

Enough room for both nostalgia forums IMO, the more the better!
Back to topic, I agree that the show looks terrific from the build up today. All of our favourites are there with a few suprises. Anybody visiting Ted's stand - come and say Hi and a look at my paintings too, just one block along from Ted's also at the end of the row - stand no.500. Ted can point you in the right direction.

A very large number of famous and beautiful cars, lots of books, pictures, and a rather small auto-jumble section. There were many specialist stands offering almost anything - from racewear to dampers, to special oils plus a good cross section of specialist engineers. I was delighted to see Crosthwaite & Gardner's stand featuring one of their Audi V-16 engines. Lahoma engineers had a beautiful V-12 BRM crankcase pluse a 750 Monza one too and amongst other bits a jewel-like BRM 1.5 litre V-8 camshaft. Arrow had an amazing selection of special con-rods on show - ranging from a giant round bar-section one from a Henry engine I would think to the tiny rods from a Ferrari 212 and a Yamaha 400 bike engine. Those Bentleys had long rods you know...!
And Baynton Jone's stand has as its centre-piece the Sefac engine centre stage. Mr Jones told me that the owner of the car had only half the twin four-cylinder engine, so B J made the other half - amazing to see.
Go if you can.

Great to meet TNF members that came by to say hello.
Much better than the 'Autosports' show, despite being freezing cold in our hall!
This was more like the good old 'racing car show' where the cars were the stars.
I will be back in '05 for sure.

A Great First attempt at this large niche market. Well attended , but not over crowded with lots of European and American visitors.
Will it work on an annual basis ??? ~ these events need to be 'fresh' and 'different' ever time ~ would every 2 years be better ??? The smaller clubs may find it difficult to finance an annual bash on this scale every year and it's their inclusion which made it so representative.
Good to meet some more TNF ers ~ inspite of forgeting my bagde !!!! I hope that doesn't invoke a 3 point penalty ! I promise to remember it next time.
