Fellows,

Does anybody know what venue was used for the 1963 Singapore GP? Thomson Road? Another one?

Additional information such as the grid and results of this race are also welcome.

Thank you,

Muzza

Wasn't this covered in the recent thread about the Singapore GP?

There was no Singapore GP in 1963
The traditional fixture was replaced that year by the Malaysian GP, which was indeed run on the Thompson Road circuit
I have very few other details - certainly not a gird
Nay specific reason for your query?

'Any'?

That's what I thought, and that was covered in that thread, I'm sure... probably posted by you, David?

Hello, David and Ray,

I found out last night that I misnamed this thread - it actually should be called Location of 1963 Johore Grand Prix.

I am looking for any information about the driver Yong Nam Kee, killed at the wheel of a Jaguar D-Type in that race (according to Classics Cars, the car was #XKD510).

(by the way, there is a lot of people copying information from Classics Cars in the internet and not quoting it as a source. What a shame)

Unfortunately the thread on the Singapore GP does not contain information on that race - bar what you David wrote in this posting.

Also - and I apologize for my ignorance - is Yong or Kee the family name of the unfortunate driver? Was the driver a man or a woman?

Thank you for your attention,

Muzza
