I used to have a very complete list of all official and unofficial F1 test or reserve-drivers from the early '80s until now. I started to compile it in '89, so it was very exact.
However in january this year the harddisk of my pc broke down. This normally isn't such a disaster since I keep my important files on burned cd-roms. However the cd were I burned the testdriver information on is damaged ! And with the file that was on my harddisk now gone I lost this testdriver list.
I was hoping that the members here could help me in restoring this year by year list, starting with the '80s.
Help needed to rebuild my testdrivers list !

I noticed in the Benetton testdriver thread a link to a site containing the official testdrivers , this will help me to complete my list again.
However the testdrivers link to 8wforix is incomplete. I am for example sure that Andrew Gilbert-Scott was a testdriver for Lleyton House and I think he also tested for Jordan. And teams like Larrousse are missing ! Larrousse was a team that had several drivers testing for them in the '80s and early '90s, yet no one is mentioned.

William, the page is a work in progress - what else can it be with such a theme?
Of course, any help is appreciated to fill in the gaps, but remember that the list only mentions official test drivers and not the one-off test drivers.

William,
There are programs for restoring data from crashed HDs and CDs, and there are professionals doing this job as well. I guess you can find some on PC specialised magazines there in Belgium, I am too far to help more though.

William,
When rebuilding your database can I make a small suggestion.
Differentiate between those who were a manufacturer's test driver such as Sanesi and those who had a 'try out' such as Senna in the Williams in 1983(?).
Good luck. I hope you manage to recover the data.
