I believe they have John Surtees and Jackie Ickx on hand to show the youngsters how to drive a real circuit.

Next Europe GP will be raced on Nordschleife rather than on GP circuit? :rotfl:

Where can I find the times?? Guess that Michael Schumacher have taken the all-time record away from Lauda then??

It would be an interesting challenge: combined Nordschleife + GP circuit now is 25947 m long (according to Racingcircuits.net), while last Nordschleife used by F.1 was 22834 m long, 3113 m shorter.
Moreover, I think Lauda knew better than Schumacher how to drive on that track.

Ciao,
Guido

I am not sure, but (just) the Nordschleife must be done (realistic) below 6 Minutes now

Yes but the speeds today are so much higher, and Michael Schumacher excell in learning new tracks.

By the way... there has been a small movie once about Schmuacher in German DSF when MS was driving a Ferrari Maranello at the old Nürburgring. It was great to see and he told, that he was driving total a few 100 laps there.

By the way... in fact I have lost a bet last year I have to walk a lap around the old Nürburgring Nordschleife on April 24th 2004.

We start at 9:30 am in front of the >Hotel zur Burg:clap:

Look here for the whole story (in German)

Presumably the car had more suspension travel and ground clearance than usual?

Dear Tyrrellp34/Patrick,

>>By the way... in fact I have lost a bet last year I have to walk a lap around the old Nürburgring Nordschleife on April 24th 2004.

>>We start at 9:30 am in front of the >Hotel zur Burg< in Nürburg.

Now this sounds like a very enjoyable way to lose a bet. I reckon that the Nordschleife is just about one day of walking at a reasonable pace.

What did you get if you won the bet?

Edward.

I dunno, it's easier to believe this than it is to believe that we're about to have a GP on a circuit that's never hosted any form of race before in a country that's never hosted any form of race before, on a Tilkedrome.................

I`d read somewhere that both and Micheal and Ralf had done many many laps around the old ring, just for the pure pleasure of it.
