These images have been coming across usenet for the last few days. I have no idea as to the source, but I assume they are scans from a book.

Looking at the photos I noticed that treaded tires were in use as late as 1967. When did slicks first appear on F1 cars?

Hello Blewgo

Good images of good old days.

Slicks tires appeared for the 1971 season, it was a significant change for F1.

Hmmmm - several different books I think - several of those shots were taken by Geoffrey Goddard, copyright The GP Library. We're not terribly amused by this. What is "usenet", and does anyone have any idea who has posted them in this way?

I found them in the news group alt.binaries.pictures.autos. The poster did not indicate where they originally came from. I captured them from there and put them on a web page. Should I take them down?
