..if possible I would like to see any photos of this race that anyone may be able to post.
The reason is that it was the only race I went to see with my dad, and the finish will forever be branded into my memory.
It was fantastic, Brabham beat Graham Hill by a whisker, easily the best finish I ever saw live. Dare I dream there is a photograph of the finish?? Any pictures to bring back that wonderful day with my dad when I was just 10 years old will be most gratefully recieved.

..weee!! Roger you're a star, thankyou so much, we were almost level but not quite with the flagman, it was a smashing finish. Jack Brabham was involved with a number of close and / or interesting finishes wasn't he.
..."thinks".... 1959 US GP Sebring he pushes his Cooper to win the Championship no less.
Int Trophy 1964 he and Graham Hill are given the same finish time they were so close but Jack wins by a wheel!!...
. Monza 1967, can't quite reach Johnny Surtees in a screaming finish to the Grand Prix...
. 1970 at Monaco (he probably still kicks himself)!.
.. Brands Hatch that same year he runs out of fuel before the line and Rindt just pips him..

cheers Roger

Apropos of little at all, this was the race where I, as 15 year old, buggered up my left ankle for all time! And 'twas Jim Clark (or perhaps, Coventry-Climax) that was the cause. I was spectating in the vicinity, as I recall, of Becketts and on lap five, Jim's engine ate itself just at the beginning of Hangar.

I ran full tilt, as only a 15yo can, to the point where he had pulled off onto the infield. I was travelling at Olympic speed when my left foot came into violent contact with a large Silverstone clump of grass and ... base over apex it was, boyo!

I regained a basically vertical stance and proceeded in agony to a point across from where the champ's smoking 25 had come to rest. There was a moment of very understandable Clark 'attitude'; the gloves were flung with some vigour into the cockpit, after which I gave myself over to the pain.

To this day, it is possible to put the 55 year old ankle over on uneven terrain.

It is my, very tenuous, link with Jim.
