November, the first full month of grey, damp off-season boredom... Let's find the perfect contrast to darkness, fog and mist by taking a look into the crystal ball!

How do I enter this competition?
You just post a reply to this thread with what you think will be the driving pairings (no more than two drivers per team) that each of the at most twelve teams will present for the first GP of 2005!
Please try to be clear about the drivers' names; I might not have heard of some rookies that you have listed, so a full name for new drivers (and other drivers that are easy to mix up otherwise too) would be appreciated. You don't have to list more teams than you think that there will be around in 2005.

How do I score points in this competition?
-You will score five points for each driver that you have put in the right team.
-If a driver you have listed in one team drives for another one, you will score two points for him/her.
-If a driver that you have listed won't be driving for any team, you will score 0 points for that driver, unless the driver in question would have raced for some team but is "temporarily unavailable" due to injury or ban.
-If you happen to put the same driver in several teams, you will only score points for the best guess of those.
-If you don't list twelve teams, you will score points for the missing seats if there aren't twelve teams around in 2005. Five points/driver if the team you left out is missing, two points/driver if there's another team missing.
-You can also guess for an UNKNOWN driver (with no given name) taking a seat in a team. The meaning of "unknown" here is that the driver won't be mentioned in any other entry for this competition. The unknown driver can only give you points if he/she is in that very team where you have guessed for an unknown.

Are there any awards?
Eternal glory and bragging rights if you manage to beat someone.
Also note that this competition is nowhere near being included in any silly Supercup thingy...

When is the deadline?
In order to get the entries within a reasonably short time span, the competition is open for entries and edits until the end of November 2003, CET.

And here are my guesses:

Ferrari: M Schumacher Barrichello

Williams: R Schumacher Webber

McLaren: Räikkönen	Montoya

Renault: Alonso Franck Montagny

Sauber: Fisichella Massa

Jordan: Trulli Firman

BAR: Button Sato

Jaguar: Coulthard	Heidfeld

Minardi: Bruni Justin Wilson

Toyota: Da Matta Björn Wirdheim

I suppose the advantage with posting my useless guess first is that it will motivate you all to show that I'm crap at this.

I don't expect a whole lotta change in 2005. I DO see a bigger difference between the factory and privateer teams throughout 2004. Hence the following order:

West McLaren Mercedes
1. Juan Pablo Montoya (WDC 04)
2. Kimi Räikkönen (runner-up?)

BMW WilliamsF1 Team
3. Ralf Schumacher
4. Jacques Villeneuve (returning to fill the gap until either Nico Rosberg or Nelsinho Piquet steps in)

Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro
5. Michael Schumacher (still hungry)
6. Rubens Barrichello (don't think Massa will be ready just yet)

Mild Seven Renault F1 Team
7. Jarno Trulli (why change a winning team?)
8. Fernando Alonso (why change a winning team?)

Lucky Strike B·A·R Honda
9. Jenson Button
10. Takuma Sato

Panasonic Toyota Racing
11. Cristiano da Matta
12. David Coulthard (Panis ran too old -- DC brings a lot of experience)

Jaguar Racing
14. Mark Webber
15. Nick Heidfeld (well, at least if Jag pick him for 04)

Credit Suisse Sauber Petronas
16. Giancarlo Fisichella (waiting for a top drive)
17. Felipe Massa (dito)

Red Bull Jordan Ford
18. Townsend Bell (a second year at Jordan (nee, Penske) with the Red Bull money)
19. Jos Verstappen (dito)

European Minardi Cosworth
20. Gianmaria Bruni (or any other Italian who brings in the bucks)
21. José Maria Lopez (my guess is as good as yours)

Well I've already calculated the preliminary results, but since it's still only preliminary, I'll have them up right after the race I suppose. I hope you can be patient for just a few more days now!
