In the late '50s and early '60s, there was an Italian constructor called Bandini who built sports cars. #67 in the 1960 Sebring 12 Hrs was a Bandini-Fiat, driven by Victor Lukens. Does anyone know anything more about this car, or have a picture of it?

Georgano's Encyclopaedia p.368 will provide you with an image of the 1956 version. DCN provided the details of a FIAT-derived sportscar with a high-revving 750cc engine. Take the mudguards off, stick the passenger seat cover on and you have an F3 car, simple as that.

That's not exact!
The Bandini in that picture is a Siluro 750 (1953-1956).

There was a big Bandini festival in Forli, Italy in 2002, and the definitive book on the cars was done in conjunction with that festival. Dino Bandini bought the Zagato coupe from someone in the US in the last 5 years, and it is now restored and in his collection.

As far as I am aware, there were only 3 Bandini berlinettas ever built:
1) The 1950s coupe that looks like an Abarth 750, but is front engined, discussed earlier in this thread, currently in Forli
2) A 1 liter twin-cam car that looks kind of like Ferrari 206 sports (now in Japan)
3) A 1300cc turbo powered 16 valve twin-cam built circa 1980 in Bandini collection in Forli

Part of the reason I said 3 is that in the back of the 2002 Forli book, it only lists 3 coupes. Does the 1963 car, which looks to me like a cross between a Lotus Elite and the one-off Alfa Abarth Bertone 1000 coupe still exist?

in the end of the book, there's only 45 Bandinis existing and identifing as orinal until 2002 and their owners but you can find this article in the book (published also in "auto italiana")
in the 2006 Cliff Reuter has found another Bandini ! the 46th, Devin bodied. You can read its story in Cliff Reuter's site

I am aware of the car and will be helping as much as I can. I have been aware of it's existance for many years, dating back to the 1950s.
I find it interesting that Clair Reuter, who raced the car back then apparently has no relationship to Jack or Cliff Reuter, and apparently neither Jack nor Cliff was aware it still existed!
Do you think the car should be returned to it's original state, which would require a great deal of work, or should it be kept with the Devin body?

In this specific case, Cliff has found the original body, you know...

We have only five cars cycle fenders bodied !
Usually i think that the car has an evolution that is part of it, so if you know the complete story and can demonstrate it, it's not a crime to maintein last body because this makes that car different from others.

I only knew that the car still existed, not that it was for sale, or even where it was. If I knew that and could afford it, I would have bought it !! It was the same case with the Zagato coupe.
I do not know of any other Bandinis hiding in the US, but I would think it is possible that there might be one sitting in a garage somewhere in Italy for many years.
I too would prefer that the car be brought back to the way it was in 1949, with "cycle" fenders, rather than with the Devin body.
