That was some of the best racing ive ever seen in F1! The last 40 laps were amazing viewing. Just a quick note, this competition is "Guess the Result on the track" and not "Guess the Result after the Stewards **** with it", so Ralf's 8th place stands.

Top score for Imola was 43 and went to race addicted, Second step went to Costaz and scheivlak Third.

Well done

Two newbies this round, the best of whom was brett_sequeira! Congratulations and welcome

I will no longer take part in this if official results are not used, as I remember that unlike some previus years, drivers ARE NOT punished anymore during the race at all because it was better to study cases calmly after the race with no hurry.

But sure you can keep guessing the ORDER in which drivers pass the lane and not race RESULTS that are two totally different things with present F1 rules.

I did expect little more professionalism from this

And better change that topic because its very missleading.

Bye  You need to learn to relax a little. I took this over this competition because the previous host needed a hand due to other commitments, if you want to run it Jokuvaan its all yours...

If anyone else has an issue with the above results please post it here. I will change it if the majority say so.

Edit***
It all makes sense now...

But has to wait result from that appeal, I hope its not week long decision.

Do you want me to wait until the outcome of the appeal before publishing the result? June?? September??

Yes I fully honestly appreciate that somebody has the commitment to do this work.

And Toyota's appeal is still going on, so we have after the race result but no after the race weekend result. But this is typical F1 process that causes problems to some money bet firms also.

And I dont think that many will complain about this case because nearly all put Ralf into top8.

But I expect hard times ahead when example some car is disqualified, or other penaltys(that surely will come) and you have to decide race "results" every time personally or using acclamation without any clear method.(like example final official results)

Ah but if you check I always said results are as official at midnight GMT at the end of the rally - i.e. to ignore appeals, not DQ's/penalties from the stewards, its the same with the allrounders. at midnight last night Nick was 8th.

anyway i'm not that bothered (ok I have nick 8th so I'm bloody fuming ;))

LB, i have nick in 7th and would have really liked the points too.

So, my last question is this... If Toyota win the appeal and ralf is awarded 8th again do I change the results again to reflect the new(old) result?

You should change the results to whatever gives me (don't worry ignore everyone else honest it will be ok :) ) the highest possible score to salvage a weekend of quite appalling predications. I feel I will have slumped down the order of most bets 'n games this week. :

I see from GTR in Spain you're leaning towards result at midnight. Whatever you go for is fine, it's not going to make my guesses any better.

Well there seems to be 3 options:

1)Order immediately from finishing line(even timing/lap errors possible like seen before)

2)Result after the race when penaltys(picked during the race) are given like it says in the rules and legality of cars checked.

3)Final word after possible appeals are investigated

I favor 3 because I think that race rules should be respected, no illegal cars, no illegal manoeuvres but also human errors of race judges are possible and phase 3 rules them out.

But I guess that this is democracy and people should vote what ever they want from this.

Btw.

Thanks Moanaman

I had Heidfeld in 7th but I think we should stick with how they finish the race, not after appeals that can take months. This is only a game.

I agree with this  - ignore the post-race FIA bullshit, the order they finish sounds good enough to me.

No it ignores appeals, whatever the result is at midnight GMT sunday (i.e. the initial official result) sticks, at least thats the way i have always done it with my games. I'll check Canada where loads got DQ'ed and Brazil with the Fisi v Raik debacle for how it used to be done. I'll check tonight when I'm not furtively posting at work.

I would take into account each version of the results regarding Heidfeld and Ralf at the same level. So maximum points for both.

I think you did the right thing, and I'm not saying that because I won this round. What we try to guesstimate, is the competitiveness of the cars in the race, (and factoring in if we believe someone might brake down of course) not revised results becasue someone ran a car not conforming to the rules, or drove dirty. These are things we have no chance of knowing anything about, so I'd say the correct thing is to use the immediate results; the order in which the cars actually took the chequered flag.

Refund! NO BLOODY REFUNDS!!!! ;)

Thanks for you opinions  This result stands as it is. As I have posted in the GTR Spain thread, all further results will be based upon whatever the result is at midnight GMT following the race.

Cheers

Mark.

I didn't think that I'd still be in the lead after that crappy round, damn that Schumacher and damn the McLaren reliability!
