Fano beach races

In the August 2004 edition of Motorsport, there is a small section in the Bill Boddy section which mentions the Danish Fano beach races which took place from the late 1910s to the eary 1920s. He also mentions that there was a commemorative run this year on the same place and same course. Does anyone have any details of this event - what the course was like etc etc?

Straight speed trial/record run over a flying kilometre and/or mile.

Winners (source: Das Autobuch by Stuck and Burggaller) Distance for these 1km.

1919 F Minoia (Fiat) 25.6sec
1920 O Ottosen (Metallurgique) 32.0sec
1921 J Duff (Fiat) 21.69sec
1922 K Joerns (Opel) 19.81 sec
1923 M Campbell (Sunbeam) 16.41sec (World Record)
1924 K Joerns (Opel) 21.29sec

Campbell also set a LSR for the mile in 1923 at 26.14sec

I have tried to look the net for information.
I found that there was a historic time trial at the 3-4/7 open for cars and bikes from before 1940. It was held on 333metre track.
I found a phonenumber so maybe i have more information later.

I got the book "Fanoe Island Trials" by Jan Clausen Nielsen. Can't get my hands on it now, sorry.

This Fanoe event, held only from 1919 to 1924, attracted some most interesting entries, including Malcolm Campbell’s 350hp Sunbeam, a big Austro-Daimler, the Carl Jorns’ Opel and aero-engined monsters such as Edward Scarisbrick’s copy of Chitty II, his ‘Scariscrow’ with Benz engine, the Stoewer-Argus, and Denmark’s Fiat-Mercedes.

BTW: Fanoe is a beautiful island! Great for holidays!

Was John Duff's fastest time of the 1921 Fanoe meeting set with the 10 litre Fiat S.61 or with the 18 litre Fiat Mephistopheles? Boddy's Brooklands history (p.70) says it was the Mephistopheles. A few years ago, I read a borrowed copy of the same author's Brooklands Giants. My memory may be playing tricks, but I thought that it credited the S.61 with the win at Fanoe.
