Road & Track for November 1950 lists the top 24 in that years event, and has 7 pictures, but they list the drivers' home town instead of the name or number of the vehicles. A driver named Phil Hill from Los Angeles finished 22nd in Bazil Panzer's J2 Allard!
R&T for November 1951 has a two page article with 9 pictures and one column of text, but no chart of results.

Ever so slightly off topic......but I have often wondered....has anyone ever gone over the edge, high up on the peak??? One of my favourite pieces of footage is Climb Dance with Ari Vatenaan and the 600hp Pug.....and he often places a wildly spinning rear close to the edge.

Ummmmmmmmmm this question has been met with stone cold silence, I'm not a ghoul and the last thing I would want to see is the Mother of all hillclimbs closed down.
Just idle curiosity....someone must have got into difficulty ????

The only instance I've ever heard of this happening, was in 1993. On a nearly flawless run, Gary Lee Kanawyer approached the final turn, but seemed to have been blow wide of it, by a crosswind, sending his car tumbling. The car came to rest on some jagged rocks not far from where it was launched and a good thing, too! Had it rolled a bit further, things would've been much different....

As a matter of interest, last week I rode my motorcycle up Pike's Peak after two Gold Wing owners told me that the last third of gravel was 'do-able'. Well it was if you count half-an-hour at 10mph with a rider scared to hell of dropping his faithful machine do-able. 14,110ft. I must read more about the hill climb. I know rally cars and trucks do it now but didn't sportscars and Formula cars once compete up it?

I guess it depends on what you mean by "Formula Car." They've run all sorts of different open-wheelers there, for many years. Champ cars, midgets and specials.

One significant ascent of Pikes Peak was in 1893, apparently 3 years after the "road" was opened. It inspired Katherine Lee Bates to write the words of "America The Beautiful".
