phot from the Castrol Achievements book , they all used Castrol

As I said in my caption Edward. However, Phil tells me that the Lola had no Castrol in it in the photo as it had no engine and was on it's way from Salzburg to Innsbruck (where it had been running a big engine in Group 7) when Phil was asked to bring the car back to the UK for the photoshoot. Immediately after the pic was taken, Phil loaded the car up and returned with it to Austria, the whole diversion having been funded by Castrol!

I couldn't resist posting this photo as it exemplifies why eminent TNFer Jerry Entin retains the luxuriant coiffurage that he enjoys today....

The line-up from Riverside F5000 in 1973 where Jody finished runner-up to Brian Redman is, as annotated on the reverse of this pic from the collection of Ron Bennett (presumably by Ron himself).......

Sid (Taylor), Jerry (Entin), "God" (Ron), Jody (Scheckter), & Kerry (Agapiou).

Sid & Mary Taylor celebrated the occasion at their restaurant "Milanos" in Birmingham last evening with close friends. They are pictured here with a splendid model of Sid's 1968 Tourist Trophy winning Lola T70 MkIII that I was able to present to Sid, thanks to the fabulous model making skills of TNFer "RS250", Ian Shelbourne.

Hello, my name is Andrew Komosa, and my GT40 is coming to the end of its 6 years reconstruction.  I have used a number of original parts from GT40s, including the bodywork off GT40 P/1001, the ex Sid Taylor car.  I would like to contact Mr Taylor in order to both show him the finished result later this year and also to ask him what the exact shades of white and green were on the said GT40.  Presumably the green has got something to do with the Shamrock connection.  I would be very grateful if someone on the forum could put me intouch with Mr Taylor, or give him my mobile number which is 07759751320.  I am the retired Chairman of the GT40 enthusiasts Club and live in Surrey, Uk.   Thank you in advance. ... Andrew.

So, more than 3 months later, I assume the ST book is now at the final proof stage or possibly with the printers?

Anything more definite on when in 2014 the launch date will be?

Ah Charles, not heard from you in some time........

Additional tales have been submitted recently that require interfacing (Sid's recollections are understandably somewhat vague......) plus the inevitable issues with the lawyers and a family member who has asked to be omitted from the story......   Life is never dull with Sidney, but we should have the book this year, bejesus.

If you pm me, I'll make sure you get a signed copy, Charles. :smoking:
