In 1934 he shared the Barnato-Hassan Special with Earl Howe in the BRDC 500 and at the end of that season even took part in a 1000 mile trial of a Fiat Balilla on the Mountain Circuit: 855 laps! He seems to have retired from racing after the 1935 '500' apart from a one-off appearance in the 1938 Nuffield Trophy at Donington in something called the Phoenix Special.
In 1934 he was also declared bankrupt - at the time he was resident at 16 Hereford House, Fulham Rd, London.

Gallez is from Belgium. We are more interested by the 5 others, from GB
Norman Black, MG driver in the 30's, also seen after the war at Monthléry or Monte-Carlo Rally.
Ron Gibson, motorcyclist in the 20's (Sunbeam), then MG Specialist.
Albert "Bert" Denly, motorcyclist in the 20's, Brookland and Word Record's specialist, then G. Eyston's friend and personal mechanic.
John Ludovic Ford, Le Mans (32 - 35), TT, Brooklands, Klausen, Manning Beg,... with MG and Alta.
Maurice Baumer, seen at Le Mans from 1932 to 1935.

Norman Black was winner of the TT at Ards in 1931 and later owned and raced ERA R3A He and Gibson were often paired in a MG.I m currently looking info about those drivers

Watson was killed in a fiery smash at Brooklands in the 1933 500 Miles. I'm not sure if Elwes raced again after that. At the inquest into Watson's death, Elwes' full name was given as James C Elwes and he was described as a "motor engineer", which partly ties in with what Mike Allison says, at least for Elwes. Watson's full name was Michael Bower Watson and he was buried at Tilford Church near Farnham, Surrey on September 20th 1933: not close to Bournemouth, but his widowed mother lived at Pirbright. However, in another twist, he was stated to have lived even further from Bournemouth at Bushey Avenue, Rustington-on-Sea in Sussex: he had been married for just 7 months, his wife Jean Ursula Watson (nee Furmedge) witnessing the fatal accident from the pits.

Michael Bower Watson was born in Heswall, Cheshire to Steven Leonard Watson (1879-1914), a cotton merchant and Annie Dorothy (nee Glynn) b. 27 Aug 1883. She had actually died two years before his fatal accident on 18 Oct. 1931 at her house Church Mead in Pirbright. Jean was expecting their child at the time of Michael's death and he, Anthony Michael Bower Watson, was born in 1934. Bower was his grandmother's maiden name.
He was a distant cousin of James Hunt, F1 World Champion and his brother David who drove in Formula 3000.

Later that year he bought a Type 135 Delahaye from the banker Pierre-Louis Dreyfus (who had moved on to a Talbot) and drove the Delahaye in the Tourist Trophy where he retired in the wet race with ignition problems. The car was lent to Clement Talbot for Georges Roesch to examine, and then to Prince Bira for the Pau race in 1937 before being sold to the Siamese Princes for the rest of the season. At this point Clarke was said to be considering a career in politics.
Post war he was listed as Co-driver to Eddie Hall in his 4.25 Bentley at Le Mans in 1950 but did not drive in the race.
