chatting with Cirrus in the pub just now......we got to wondering whatever happened to Ralph Bellamy after the Lotus 76. Anyone know and what is he up to now?

Yep.

Ralph moved back to Australia a while back. It's best to describe him as "semi-retired" but he is still involved in the odd historic racing meet down under (or was the last I heard).

But that's as far as I know, maybe one of our Australian contributors knows any more?

Ralph was involved with an Australian Touring car team for a while but I am not sure if he still is.

lads, am I right in thinking that Ralph had some latter input into the Lotus 72's in, say, 1974-75, after Maurice Phillipe went to Vel's Parnelli?

Does anyone know whereabout in Queensland/The Gold Coast Ralph comes from? For such a big "name" in motorsport history, it's difficult to find out much about him, probably because of the actor of the same name dominating the search engines...

Well, after the Ron Harris success, I'm going to try with this one. If TNF can whittle down my mysteries, it means 1) less work(!) and 2) more time to concentrate on the really difficult mysteries.

Bellamy is still alive & the info I gave Gary C, I believe is still valid, unless, again anyone knows differently.

But this question is still valid:

Does anyone know whereabout in Queensland/The Gold Coast Ralph comes from?

Anyone know at all??

Thanks in advance

Ralph Bellamy is alive and well - living on Queensland's Gold Coast. He still has an active interest in motor sports. He was at Sandown (Victoria) only a week or so ago.
