From the Thursday press conference.

Q. Quite difficult for you this year, you did some Friday testing last year but that's disappeared and not a lot of other testing either.

FM: No, not a lot of testing. At the beginning of the year it was quite OK. I had a lot of work to do with the team and we developed the car quite well, but since the beginning of the year one of the two drivers is struggling a little bit with the car, so he's asking to do more testing. We only have one car, so all my days which were on the planning have been taken off (by him) unfortunately for me. That's the deal; when you sign the contract you know it can be like this. You hope it's not going to be, but there is the possibility.

Hmm, I wonder which of the 2 drivers he could be talking about. Come on Toyota. Do the right thing and give Franck the drive for his home race, (and beyond).

It doesn't take a genius to work out who he's referring to. I agree, Franck should be given his chance. The only thing that is stopping it happening may be contractual machinations.

Yeah Toyota! Get that dangerous and self-centered Italian out of the car and give "Franck the surfer" a chance. ;)

Unlike his name, he is not frank at all.

No, I mean that Franck should replace Ralf, not Luca di Montezemolo.

No ****! Communication breakdown...

On a serious note though. I really like Franck Montagny. IMHO, he's very underrated.

The only guy to beat Sato in a Super Aguri. The fact that Montagny is a tester whilst Schumacher is a race driver is a crying shame imho.

If the Schumacher name was preceded by Michael, I would understand Toyota spending on him. Ralf though, is well past his sell by date. He was never as good as his brother, but now he is well below his own best. Ralf in his day could be a top 5 driver. These days, he is only outperforming the seriously untalented Albers.

Montagny would be able to keep Trulli in check.

Yeah like him too but he'll not have a chance at Totota this year I think, Ralf will finish this season as a Toyota driver.

One thing's for sure, he's tremendously eager, he has co-commented on a few races on the RTBF (Belgian Television) and you can really tell he worships Toyota and is waiting for his 'big break'. He certainly deserves it IMHO.
