Should I even bother asking if anyone tried it???

www.indy500legends.com

www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/942038.asp?q=indianapolis

I rarely trust a game when I didn't see or hear it coming AT ALL!!!
Too much hype is one thing but a total marketing silence and/or zero buzz is another...

Wanna see it in action?
www.gamespot.com/video/942038/6177628/pax-2007-show-floor-demos-

At 3 min 16 secs, they go at it with an interview with someone(Sorry! I don't know who she is, my speakers are out!!! GRRR!!!) and show some footage.

Comments anyone???

The game won't be out until November, so they've got plenty of time for marketing. Lisa, the studio designer interviewed, said it's a mostly mission-based game, with missions based on what actually happened during the Indy 500s between 1961 & 1971.

It looks like it could be a fun game, but I'm not really into arcade-style racing games. One interesting twist that I noticed on their site was the ability to use the Wii remote to change tires and refuel the car. I think it's great that there's a video game company that is offering something from this era of racing, but I just wish it was a little more realistic in its execution.

I've seen a demo online, the Wii version looks good.

I actually have the DC version, of course the graphics and controls are nothing like the Wii.

Sadly the controls are cr@p on the DC, even with the stylus.

The gameplay is pretty cool though.

Basically you go through the years as greats such as Foyt, Brabham etc.

And you recreate historic events like passes for the lead and avoiding pileups that really once happened etc.

The track is supposed to change and there are a few different cars to try.

and you would have to say, as a game it was pretty good! Sure, the graphics are not up to standard, but the cars felt more like a racing car than some of the more modern games.
I have actually managed a couple of full 500s on this - using the keyboard...

Pure arcade, but the Wii controls work very well and it is very good looking. You get
assignments. Like qualify at a speed greater than ***. And you then unlock more
cars and assignments. Looks like it should be good, but you might wait I have a feeling
it will drop in price quickly.
