At least the cynics might then believe Honda's commitment to the eco theme.

I'll believe Hondas commitment to the eco theme when they stop motor racing.Originally posted by Imperial
Honda could give some free advertising space over to Greenpeace.

Ha ha, excellent !!
Another curious point is there were loads of companies like Coca Cola and McDonald's (ie childrens companies) who apparently only refused to get involved in F1 while cigarette advertising was there. It's been gone a few years now, where are all these kids companies?
Funny how when it comes to the crunch they never put their money where their mouth is.

Well, I suppose I see your point.
Did they actually ever use the word Marlboro at any point in 2007? I don't think they did at Indy, as Penske is still using Marlboro (and US sports dictates only one cigarette sponsor per venue, or something along those lines).
Obviously Marlboro's subliminal advertising must be too much for the likes of McDonalds (who's adverts totally indoctrinate children) to handle.

For the overpiced, shiny plain car, Apple.
(only joking Apple lawyers)
Would be great to see Lotus back, at least as a brand if not a full manufacturer.

Porsche have already been involved more than once, and I don't want Lotus back without Chunkie.
Now Audi...as suggested in other post, it would be great if VAG came in with the Skoda badge

how can you honestly compare the two.
one gives you cancer.
one doesn't!
sure. excess consumption of Beer can make you fat, and worse, kill you - but only in VERY rare cases.
people are dying of cigarette induced illnesses EVERYDAY.

Coronary heart disease is by far the biggest killer in the western world. I presume that you have a big problem with McDonalds champ car sponsorships.
Alcohol has absolutely proven 3rd party problems. Secondary smoking has never been independantly proven as having any problems. When people get pissed, they get violent. When people get pissed, if they decide to then drive, (which given the fact that F1 involves cars is a pretty big psychological link for sponsorship to have), they can kill people.
For example, in the US alone, in 2001 there were nearly 76,000 AAD's, (Alcohol Attributed Deaths), and 2.3 million YPLL, (years of potential life lost). That is not VERY rare!!
To put it in your words, one can make you beat someone up or kill someone, the other doesn't.

Which sounds ironic since McDonald's used to sponsor a car in the Winston Cup.
