I heard about him a couple of months ago...I guess he is planning on come back to racing, probably at Brazilian Stock Car.

I only see a 2007 copyright on this story

...but I think it came out about the first of this month.

After a handful of laps in a kart, Cristiano was relieved to discover all his old skills were still there, sharp as ever. "I got back in a go-kart and I was very nervous," he remarked. "I thought maybe I had become a wanker. But I went out and after the first three laps everything felt a hundred percent normal. There wasn't even one little question mark. Everything was there exactly the same as it was before. I still have to get back in a proper race car to get the last question mark out of my mind. But hopefully, it's going to come back just like the go-kart. I'm just waiting for that day."

The buds and I spoke at length with him last year at Long Beach, he seemed still a bit shaky and was very thin, but he was, and I'm sure still is, just a great guy. He thanked everyone of us from his heart and gave all the girls hugs when we all said how wonderful it was to see him up and around after such a horrific shunt.
If I see him this year I'll be sure to tell him how all on this board wish him happiness and health.

Yes, please do so!! I met him in Surfers Paradise (Champ Car) many years back, and he is a great guy, friendly and has plenty of time for everyone. Tell him his Australian night-club buddies wish him all the best!!

I live in his hometown, and bumped into him on December 20th.

We were in a really nice bar, the Entre-Folhas (Among Leaves) and chatted a bit. He's just like before the accident, and having a normal life.

Doctors said he should avoid open cockpit racecars, so he's looking for a touring series to take part. As he loves racing in USA, my guess is that he'll try ALMS or something similar.

Next time I see him I'll let him know about the AtlasF1 people sending regards.

A great moment yes, even if he got there by luck (that crazy priest invading the track).

Next week I'll pass by his brothers shop and he'll probably be there. Maybe he leaves a message here, who knows!
