Well let's see, if it's a typical day for The Swerve he banged a couple of smoking hot models and made more money than you'll make in the next decade.

Eddie has a personal fortune of over $200M (real estate) . I doubt a few stray follicles will counter his balance.

C'mon, you guys should know that the money is when he pulls the hair back with his hands.

Mid-conversation, pull the locks back while you look the girl in the eyes. It's too easy. And the ladies probably like to touch it.

And a last note, he's kinda' got the bohemian/beach-bungalow look goin' with the long hair and scruffy face. Not too bad.

Mmm, seems to have gone from a lady's man to a lady-man.

Always liked the swerve though - met him towards the end of the 1999 season, (when he looked in a good chance of winning WDC) - and he was pretty much cool-as-****.

Still, he's had a credible F1 career, has furthered his fortune through property, and presumably spends his life shagging women cuter than the average Forum-Poster's Mrs (or indeed Mrs Forum Posters), can probably walk into any F1 pitlane at will and generally leads a life that many would consider more desirable than their own.

His autobiography was a crock of self-serving ****, but apart from that minor transgression...Go Eddie!

There is a touch of the Robert Plant look about him.

Perhaps we should have some kind of "lookalikes" thread....I daresay this forum is mature enough not to descend into self-distruction with such a thread! :rotfl:

Couldn't have put it better myself. As if any of the ladies who hook up with him give a **** about the hair. It's Eddie Irvine FFS. :D

Done well with the property portfolio too has the Swerve, Miami beach and all.

Looks good.

Judging by that horrible film he waddles like a duck, but I like the hair.

Not quite sure what you are trying to infer about the female members of this forum, we might be very attractive for all you know ;)

Speaking from a female perspective I believe the attraction felt by females is generally when they are still an F1 driver (the fast cars, the glamourous locations etc etc), once they leave the sport, fall out of the limelight and end up looking like a dirty hippy we very quickly lose interest :p

Former grand prix winner Eddie Irvine has slammed F1's governing body for turning the pinnacle of motor racing into "tiddlywinks".

The 42-year-old Ulsterman, who nearly won the title for Ferrari before retiring as a Jaguar driver in 2002, accuses the FIA of dumbing down formula one to the point that it is no longer a true sport.

Irvine told the Guardian newspaper that he subscribes to legendary American novelist Ernest Hemingway's quote that only bullfighting, mountaineering and motor racing are sports -- "all the rest are merely games".

But "formula one seems intent on trying to become a game," Irvine said.

He does not agree that trying to slow down the cars and ramping up safety should be the primary focus of the FIA.

"Now it's not much of a gladiatorial contest," he said, observing that the FIA has been influenced by governments "who have other agendas than sporting competition".

"Take Monaco," Irvine said. "It used to be the ultimate test of a driver not making a mistake. Now they have changed the swimming pool, taken out barriers.

"It's as if they have said: 'Let's make this circuit as easy as we can'."

Wasn't he the one who was angry when Lauda made similar comments about F1 years ago ?
Lauda said that even a monkey could drive an F1 car now, and Irvine was not pleased at all.
Now, he is the one making similar comments. Oh well.

Oh I'll bet one look at the check book would revive the interest of 95% of the female persuasion.

Always loved this from Eddie:

"What a start to my Grand Prix career. I got punched by Senna in my first race, crashed in my second, destroyed four cars in my third and got banned from my fourth. People are going to think I'm some kind of nutter."

Well...a rich nutter anyway :p

 Unfortunately his opening his mouth and spewing forth put off the more discerning 5% of the female persuasion ;)

I think I'd take Kimi over him any day, at least if Kimi is spewing rubbish you can't understand it

Maybe, but I don't think I disagree with him.

I think that Lauda's comment that even a monkey could drive an F1 car was unfair then and is unfair now. Having seen what physical training the drivers have to do, and how people cope that haven't had that training (Brundle and Blundell), I am in awe at how hard it must be to do the things that they do.

But with regards to constantly meddling in order to slow the cars and the Health and Safety Brigade watering down some of the only classic tracks left on the calender ... I think Eddie's spot on.

Eddie Irvine will remain one of my favourite drivers of all time. Some classic quotes.

In his first year with Ferrari, Eddie was asked why his teammate Michael Schumacher's helmet was oddly shaped. Irvine replied: "Because he's German, he's got an odd shaped head."

Asked which driver was his favorite: "Hmmm...ammm...well we're all a bunch of tossers really!"

Miss Belgium asked Irvine in the Spa paddock: "How can I seduce you?" Irvine replied, "Take your clothes off." She wasn't charmed.

An interviewer asked, "Eddie, if you have Mika Häkkinen and Michael Schumacher on a tower, whom would you throw out?" Irvine answered, "Mika Häkkinen, because Michael Schumacher is already out of this championship."

On fear: "But fear is an irrational business. The things that really scare the s**t out of me are earwigs, which used to infest our home in Ireland. I'd rather do 180mph around Monza than even see an earwig, let alone have one crawling around on me. I don't like snakes, either, but they are about the only two things that scare me, except for weddings, of course, and commitment, but that's another story."

To an interviewer, on what he said to David Coulthard that made him so upset: "I didn't call him a fag, I actually said he should stop being a fag and worrying about what I say."

Irvine told the London Sunday Business Post about an encounter he had while trying to enter a nightclub in Dublin.
Bouncer: "Sorry sir, members only."
Irvine: "But I'm Eddie Irvine!"
Bouncer: "P**s off! Eddie Irvine is a famous racing driver. Stop wasting my time."

Jordan team boss Eddie Jordan asked Irvine to participate in a photo shoot, but Irvine responded: "Do I have to? Send out some f**ker in my helmet, they'll never know the difference"

You would never get any of the current crop talking like that.
