Hi guys.
Just watched the free practise for the first ever MotoGP race at night from Qatar under floodlights on Eurosport.
I thought that it was absolutely brilliant,the lighting was (at least on camera) superb and the lap times were very competitive. I worked in Qatar for 2 years and I just wonder what the varying humidity levels (very high) will have on the riders/engine management systems/tyres?

Yes I just watched it too. I was struck by how brilliant the colours are - on TV - under floodlighting. Everything seemed so crisp, hard-eged. I was impressed. I would be interested to know what the riders think about it.

Interesting to see that Stoners Ducati was the only one to get the B/Stones working well, Quali in 1 hour.

Have you noticed the clear visors that everyone is using? Reminds me of the wet weather visors that F1 drivers used a long time ago - it must be intentional for visibility. I wonder if F1 will do the same come Singapore.
I sure hope so, I love to see the drivers faces. I remember seeing the concentration in the eyes of Prost and Senna.

All I know is that, compared to day time, conditions vary from 45º track temperature and 15% humidity to 15º and 75%.

I watched the race last night. I thought it was great!
Musco always does a great job with their lighting setups. I remember back when they first started that they setup temporary lights for a University of Notre Dame (american) football game. The team held a night practice a couple of days before the game. They actually requested that the lights be turned down a bit because they were too bright!
They've become a huge business since then. They've done the lighting for several US racetracks. Pretty much any major lighting job in the US is done by Musco. Even our local park's ballfields use Musco lights.
One question, though...were there any spectators there? I don't recall seeing a single crowd shot.
