There was a gathering of over 30 Vintage & Historic cars on Southport beach last Friday the 8th September. The purpose was a re-enactment of the between the wars Sand Racing which was being filmed by a BBC crew. Amongst the cars present was Spider, the first Basil Davenport special, and Basil's son & daughter were present to recreate a photo taken on the beach when Spider was last raced there.
