Where should I race my Davrian?

After several years of hillclimbing Imps of all types, I've finally got my hands on a Davrian, a 1969 mk4 (although road registered in 1971).

The only reasonable thing to do is to race it (most of old hillclimb muckers now race Imps in the HSCC/HRSR series), but I can't decide which series. So far I've identified:

HSCC Road sports - could have problems with eligibility due to its 60s/70s crossover. Also requires 'standard' bodywork (what ever that is with a Davrian!)

CSCC Swinging 60s - seems like a good series, already has a mk1 Davrian competing.

SRGTC - more for pure race cars by the looks of it, but I'd like to keep the car road-going.

Are there any other series? Any advice would be really welcome.

Gerry you seem to have the options covered, I would be interested to hear more about your car .
Do you have its full history, spec, photos, etc.
I was talking to Julie Thwaites who with Lorina McLaughlin ( nee Boughton ) used to race them in period along with Pat Longhurst etc, - who quite liked the idea of getting one back , preferably her old car , for some historic racing .
The unique factor was the astonishingly light weight of the car.

I'd give the HSCC a call. They're very approachable, and would advise you whether it would be eligible. Davrians are an important part of 60s and 70s club racing, and deserve to be seen out again.

Spoke to Tim Duffee, who owns Darrian, the successors of Davrian. He reckons the chassis was built in '69. The (original green) log book shows it was registered in December '71 so it must've taken the first owner a while to build. It's a mk4 with its original front drum brakes (unfortunately) and Serck front rad (fortunately). Not on the road since '92, it needs a full rebuild although the fabulous GRP monocoque is complete and totally solid and as you say seriously light.

I want to race it while keeping it road legal if possible, as a true patinated '60s sports car. I'll put disks on the front and I have a 100 bhp 998 to go in it, so it should be an easy project. the difficult bit will be getting a cage put in - you either have to weld it in the car or cut the roof off!!

The main problem with the HSCC series is that they list the Davrian but with a minimum weight of 586kg without ballast- I'd have to put a 100kg roll cage in it to get to that!!
