I can't help but notice there are many aspects to this car which are asymetric. This could mean one of three things.
1) unlikely but it was built cockeyed in the first place
2)One side has been repaired by a complete amateur, it has the look of a car with 'two ages', ie built in the early sixties, and then half way through a rebuild in the eighties
3) it is a styling buck. its common practice in the industry to build a styling model with different styles on each side
Its not an Elva F Junior car with an all enveloping body is it?

A further thought.... In the early sixties befor disc brakes took hold a few car builders used wheel components from things like Renault and VW, effectively giving them detachable rims to attach their one piece brake drum, wheel and hub to (Gemini ?).
This would give credence to the fact that it was British but had apparently continental chassis components.
