Doug, have you written about this experience on the forum?
Cheers

There was enough of the modern, plastic cars within to hold the attention of the more youthful viewership, and plenty of proper metal machinery to entertain we fossils. Without doubt a bespoke version focusing on the pre-whatever cars and drivers would have been more 'up our streets', but perhaps that will be forthcoming via other means. All-in-all I thought it captured the ambience of the event rather well.
I did, however, notice a couple of howlers - for example the *1973* Brabham BT44. And JYS proclaiming that he was wearing his 1968 helmet, when in fact it was - I'm pretty certain - his [genuine] 1969 helmet.
Nit-picking at its best!

Only for the first race, AFAIK - and he wore an open-face lid...Originally posted by LB
He used the car in 1969 as well didn't he? So helmet and car would be together in the championship year, which I believe they were on about.

Great to see Dan Gurney in particular and that Eagle - loads of other treats too. I'd almost forgotten what it was like to see modern drivers without their dreaded baseball cap adverts permanently attached to their heads when not in a car.
I was a bit naive to direct my question to Doug about his Vanwall exploits, so does anyone know if he's put his pearls of wisdom on the forum anywhere about this experience?

My favourite was the Tyrrell Cosworth BT42
I thought, overall, they did a good job of capturing the atmosphere of the festival. I was a bit surprised that there was no mention of Bruno Senna driving his uncle's Lotus but, apart from that, an excellent review with something for everyone.

An insufficiently "trousers on fire" style of presentation?

Nothing would please me more than to say that I think you are wrong, but.....

Can I suggest this alert is worthy of a new thread to let everyone know??
I'll leave it to you to ponder and post.
