We're in the process of restoring one of the two original 1966 Alan Mann MKI GT40's - chassis # AMR/1. If anyone on this great forum has close up pics or documents pertaining to either of these two MKI GT's when they raced at Sebring 1966 (#24 & #25) or 1966 LeMans test days (#15 & #16) we would love to purchase them for reference. Both cars ran in prototype class with lightweight aluminum body clips (sans rocker covers) and were painted Monaco Red with twin gold center stripes. Also looking for any close up pics or documents of either car at the Alan Mann facility, Gomm's Fabrication or ? in 1966. Please post contact info here, or if you prefer, please private email me. Interestingly, post '66 LM trials, Alan Mann was instructed by FoMoCo to replace AMR/1 & AMR/2 with the 427 MKII. AMR/2 was later "un-modified" (for a lack of a better term) away from aluminum prototype spec to Grp4 spec by Paul Hawkins and went on a great string of victories. L'action magazine and Hurel's book "Ford auMans" also have some nice long distance pics of AMR MKI's. Thanks!
