Right, so, how good was the Japanese Grand Prix? Schumacher and Alonso fans are banned from voting for options 1 and 10 respectively...

The first half was great with Alonso and Michael really being the class of the field. Great duel between the best two drivers in the sport.
Then Michael retired, ending the championship and excitement in this race.

10 for the first part, 1 for the second. I give it overall a 6.

Nothing spectacular on track, the excitement coming from the "battle" between Michael and Fernando and some backmarkers crashing their cars.

The tv race director should have been shot. That had to be one of the worst directed Grand Prix of the year.

Somewhere between a 3 and a 4. There was no real drama or expectation. There was a surprise, but it took the stuffing out of the championship fight. Brazil is going to be uninteresting, but for the macabre hope that Alonso dnf's and MS wins, not because I care who wins the WC; but because it would be the most ridiculous end to a season ever.

Suzuka.

That's says it all really for me. I absolutely love this track. Every race at Suzuka is special.

The coverage was Premium.. That Directory should get the award for Wanker of the Year.

Schumachers engine failure or not, I give it a 5. Had given the same vote if Schumacher had won the race BTW.

Well, on screen action was missing....

I'm surprised by by some of the opinions here. I thought it was a good race - tense, with a fair number of passes and a couple of great drivers on the limit at the front.

Quite! Appalling. Can the FIA or Bernie not give instructions saying that simply concentrating on your own country's teams or drivers will be punished in the same way that politicising podium ceremonies is.

This is not a nation v nation sport, and this British viewer supports a German driving an Italian car. We are not all raving nationalists, and the TV production should not be directed as such.

there was a potential for a good race, and even being a renault fan i have to say the relish of a close title is now sadly lost.

i wanted michael to be in with a chance for an 8th. Glad i finally got to see him race in Barcelona even though he wasn't competative there.

The amount of passes we had to watch via replay was appalling.

I voted 6: not bad, but not brilliant either.

BTW I don't think we where robbed of too much (regarding a final showdown) by MS engine blow-up. Everything indicates that Ferrari have the better package and if MS would have gone to Interlagos with a two (effectively three) point lead, the WDC would have been almost as sealed as it appears today. Especially because then we would still have considered the chance of a Ferrari breaking down close to zero - unlike now ;)

The perfect result in Suzuka would have been 1. FA, 2. MS, so that the faster combination would have to do the catch-up, but that never looked likely.
