In my efforts to document the career of Patrick Depailler I was kindly handed an AUTOSPORT report (27 JAN 1967) on the 1967 Monte Carlo Rally. In the results Henri Pescarolo/Patrick Depailler are classified 47th in a Matra Djet.

My question - Did Depailler competed in this event? On the Internet I discovered a photo of this Matra Djet, but they mention that the crew was Pescarolo/Jabouille.

Who is correct?

According to the official results (as printed in the excellent Maurice Louche book) it was Pescarolo-Depallier.
There is also a colour picture which has the same comment on driver/co-driver.

Edit, the picture is shown on the thread linked above.

Thank you very much, chaps./

Louche and AUTOSPORT then both have it as Pescarolo/Depailler. Both reliable sources I would imagine.

On the Internet I discovered that there is a model of this car that is made by SPARK. They sell it as a Matra Djet 6, driven by Henry (sic) Pescarolo and J.P. Jabouille at the 1967 Monte Carlo. They show the same photo as on fvebr's forum...Not so sure if they have their facts correct if they can't even spell "Henri" correctly.

If you can please perhaps ask on this excellent forum, that you linked, I shall be most thankful.

Here is a 1:43 model of the car. This one is by a Chinese manufacturer with the name of BIZARRE. They also mention the crew was Pescarolo/Depailler...

Look no further! Both AUTOSPORT and Marice Louche are incorrect.

I was in contact with Pescarolo a short while ago and Madie Pescarolo's answer is:

"Henri says it was Jean-Pierre Jabouille."

Found on a report of the automobile magazine, 36éme rally of Monte-Carlo I quote

Happier than his elders Beltoise and Servoz, Henri Pescarolo who teamed up with Jean Pierre Jabouille reached not only in Monaco, but also competed for the ultimate test in mountain. Left there 22éme position, Pescarolo was fighting directly Lucien Bianchi, Harper and Gatti, he had already passed the citroën when the gear box refused any service in the second ascent of the turini. " As every participants in the last night, they were classified. 47th..

Thanks To ALBI from FA (and who sometimes hangs around here) who reported that confirmation.

My gratitude to the people on the French forum for their excellent response!

It is clear that Maurice Louche must have used AUTOSPORT as source for the results in his book and not the French journals as quoted on the above mentioned forum.
