Scottish Grand Prix

I have recently discovered there was a Scottish Grand Prix held at Winfield near Berwick in 1951, this came as a surprise to me. I know it was won by a Thinwall Masserati, but nothing else, does anybody know if there are any photos or a report out ther on the web?

The Scottish GP of 1951 was held on the 21st July, and although a formula 1 race in name, featured Jaguar XK120s and BMW 328s. Parnell's HWM broke a drive shaft and failed to start and the race, over 100 miles, was led briefly by Archie Butterworth's 4WD AJB before David Murray took over witha Maserati 4CL. Joe Kelly's Alta challenged but retired. Murray retired with fuel pump problems and Philip Fotheringham-Parker took the lead in Duncan Hamilton's Maserati 4CL, chased home by Gillie Tyrer's BMW 328. Ian Stewart was third in an XK120.

I'm sure Mr Gauld will be able to add to the story.......

I think Alan's right, and the winning car was a 4CL rather than a 4CLT. Whether or not it was Hamilton's I don't know: PFP certainly raced Hamilton's 6CM Maser around this time.
Also, Parnell was at the wheel of a locally-owned F2 HWM when he retired on the line, having been lent the car when the BRMs failed to show
