What links the following drivers:

Lorenzo Bandini
Gerhard Mitter
John Whitmore
Guy Ligier
Giancarlo Baghetti

Note: Roger Clark is not allowed to answer until 7.30 p.m.

Well, yes, they may well have done, so I suppose that you win....

However, that's not the answer I am looking for.

You can add Corrado Manfredini in to plotten the thick!

They were all in the Targa Florio in '65?

Move that goal post one more time and I'll have to flog you with a herring!

They all did not qualify for the Formula Junior race at Monaco in 1960.

Oh, I just knew that!

Actually, I just did a Yahoo search with all their names in it, and the 1960 Monaco Formula Junior race was the 10th item on the list!

I think the use of Internet search engines is spoiling this sort of quiz! :)

From now on, no-one is allowed to use one..... (except me!)

:drunk:

It might help the contestants -- to have the quiz provider make sure there is ONLY ONE ANSWER TO THE QUIZ!!!

Hey, my wife sometimes uses the internet for her crossword puzzles!!! :)

Seriously, I think it does show how helpful the internet can be for us as we explore motor racing history...

Good point, r, but given that Ligier did not drive in the 1965 Targa Florio and Manfredini did not drive at Le Mans in 1964, what are the other possible answers to my question?

I mean, they may all have had Weetabix for breakfast but who would know.....

Incidentally, I could have used these 6....

PIERRE HOUDUSSE
EBERHARD RANK
RENE ABBAL
GIUSEPPE BAGGIO
JACQUES CALES
TOM HAWKES

...and the answer would have been the same.

I suppose a Yahoo search would have given the correct answer just as quickly.

ok, ok... though, Manfredini was the "post mover" on that one. I guess I should have used Yahoo!

Tom Hawkes is listed as G.B, so what do you mean, Ray?
