You may remember me introducing myself last April when I posted some pix of the ex David Prophet, ex Roy Lane m10b which I had been fortunate to acquire.

Well, my McLaren has now run for the first time.

Wednesday's shakedown at Mallory Park went extremely well, despite the freezing temperatures, and after Simon had bedded it in and made a couple of minor setup changes, I enjoyed 16 laps before electrical problems curtailed the session.

The performance is stunning, and the grip levels are way beyond my present ability to explore them.

I still have eyes the size of saucers and I can't wait to get back in the car once a few ergonomic changes have been made to make me more comfortable and a better fit.

If we can get some heat into the tyres next time .................

Mallory Park has shrunk significantly since I was last there in the Morgan !

 It's gorgeous, Barry!

I cut my circuit racing teeth on F5000s at Mallory, and I can see and hear them again right now. A pity you had to fit silencers/mufflers, but I presume that's a locally-imposed restriction for testing. No matter; Goodwood testers were 'suffering' in the same way over thirty years ago.

A wonderful car; you're a lucky fellow...

Well done, Barry...

I guess you're not going back to Morgans in a big hurry then?

Thank you all for your kind comments.
Happy to post a couple more pix as requested.

This one drew the comment from a young lady in my office :-

"That racing car is so old it's got a MUMMY in it"

Simon H can be seen making off with the sarcophagus lid.

...and a nice paddock shot....

....and I bet this is the bit that Twinny remembers best...that relentless urge out of the elbow as you get the wheels in line and give it the beans !

...Which rather tenuous link (The Elbow at Mallory) gives me the opportunity to slip in a pic of me in the Morgan racing against the Cooper 500s in July ... equally exciting but in a completely different (somewhat more exposed) way.

I love it !

Lovely car, I must have seen it 1st time around......................love the colour and the looks, I am not sure, but is it based on the F1 M7? Great place to start........You will have to get a signwriter to put your name in script in dark blue, on the side, in Bruce and Denny style

Great Car!
