Once again the new Launch Season is fast approaching..... I've decided to take up my previous threads and start one on a hypothetical launch of the AF1-007. I hope you'll indulge me once more.

Launch Date......1st January 2007.

http://fw11b.topciti.../slides/01.html

Once again I'm not sure if it will be completely legal, or very practical but I hope it'll spark some discussions on the merits or problems of the design.

Thank you for your interest.

btw.... I'm once again open to suggestions for sponsors, however I'm intending on showing my allegiance to Cosworth for the power plant.

As Mika once said, "I guess it will have four black wheels, and a steering wheel." Or something like that.

Looks very interesting

It's certainly going to be interesting to see the comments on it...... I'm concerned as to how it's going to be received, it seemed like an interesting idea when I thought of it.

Radical rear wing! I really like the V-shaped frontwing, I believe Ferrari had those in 1999 and I always liked them.

No barge boards, not even between the suspension? Interesting design in all, looking forward to your story about it.

Hi FW11B, loving your work as always.

That's a good one, the rear wing going from the standard position of the end-plate to the engine cover. I guess it would achieve somewhere near the same amount of reduced downforce at the rear to create some fun for the drivers on rear end stability, as what Max's centreline downwash thingy whatsit :drunk: , with the huge gap at the centre of the rear end and all.

I like it.

The rear wing would not create much downforce. I like it.

Thought for a second that the front wing was attached via magnetic field 'til my eyesight finally sussed the central pylon. Nice.

Very interesting design choice.

The front wing very Tyrrell 1997 like, but the rear wing is something very very special, designed for more overtaking in mind? :)

Those mirrors are gorgeous, and I love the lack of barge boards and winglets. I'd really like to see a rear view of the car so I can see what the competition will see. ;)

I imagine a rear a lot slimmer than the Fittipaldi FD01,.......enclosed and very sleek.

FW11B,
Do you have a way to test for wind resistance and I think you should patent that rearwing!

It will never catch on/be allowed due to lack of space for sponser logo's.

These boards would be a desolate place.

Interesting looking car though, be interested how that rear wing would work.

Oh, and give it slicks, because any racing car looks tonnes better with them bolted on!

Now that you have enlarged it, I realise the lion is actually looking quite sad. I hope for Renault that that won't be the story of their life time from now on.

Has to be an oversteer monster, with those little rear wing planes.

How 'bout the classic adidas logo? Although I guess that would create a few corporate hospitality conflicts with the Nike people :p
