Does anyone know of a source for photos from this event? I am looking for the start and anything that might show the John Coombs Lightweight E-Type 4WPD. Thanks.

One bump to stay on the front page and then I'll give up.

No luck on LAT...do you know if Phillip Porter has a website? A quick google showed his books on sale at Amazon but I did not find a site for him. Thanks for the suggestions.

Is it the Jag and/or the team ? You could try open a thread on Coombs or the Jag lightweights.
I have searched but not found(I believe) . I also did the "who was this ?" thread , sometimes you get a lot other times not. Sorry cant help otherwise.

Do you know what was the race number of the E Type> I know of one pic of 4WPD taken at Silverstone, but don't know which event it was.

For pictures I'd try Ted Walker at Ferret, he has the biggest and most varied choice of this kind of thing in my experience.

As for which race Alan, 4 WPD's 1964 appearance was subtly different from 1963 if I recall correctly, with possibly reprofiled wheel arches and certainly lower ride height. Additionally the May 1964 GT race was run in wet, dark conditions unlike the wholly dry 1963 event, ditto the Silverstone GP support race of that year, so if the track is dry it's probably not 1964.

The car was driven by Dan Gurney who did not get on with it in the wet and finished well back, perhaps 9th if memory serves correctly.

Another source Teegeefla might be Jaguar historian Paul Skilleter and you could try the BRDC archives. Good luck.

philip porter runs various XK events and the E type club/register.

alternatively, try Jaguar Daimler heritage for contact details (or maybe the pics you want)
