Does anyone know what happened with Jim Clark in the qualifying´s 1960 Portugal F1 race ?

On his second lap of the Friday practice he made what he described as 'a mess of things' trying an overly tight line on one corner and ended up clobbering the straw bales hard.

Some considerable damage was done to the car and whilst it was rendered able to start the race it was what he termed 'a starting money special' in 'Jim Clark at the Wheel.'

I like the view of him looking suitably reflective in the Sutton picture you have linked.
