Often people on the forum are travelling during a grand prix weekend and ask where they can watch a race. With help from you, here is a list of venues that screen F1 in cities around the world.

If you know a venue that's not listed, please reply to this thread, and I'll update the list below.

If you just want to know what channel screens F1 in the country you're in, here's a comprehensive list of F1 broadcasters.

And here's the list of venues (updated 02/04/09)...

Australia
Melbourne
Charles Dickens Tavern, 290 Collins Street

Belarus
Minsk
Jamaica Club, 10 Olshevskogo Street

Belgium
Antwerp
Kelly's Irish Pub, de Keyserlei 27 – Statiestraat 20

Brussels
Fat Boys Sports Bar & Grill, 5 Place du Luxembourg

England
London
Dirty Dick's, 202 Bishopsgate EC2M 4NR
The London Formula One Meetup Group

France
Nice
Ma Nolans Irish Pub, 2 Rue Saint François De Paule

Japan

Poland
Warsaw
Champions Sports Bar, al. Jerozolimskie 65/79 (below the Marriott Hotel)

Singapore
Clarke Quay has lots of sports bars.

USA
Those nice people at Speed TV have made this list of venues in the US - thanks to CONOSUR for passing on the US tips you're providing to that Speed thread.

Las Vegas
Monte Carlo Casino sports book. (I travelled the length and breadth of the strip to find this baby...)
You'll need to ask them to change the channel to Speed for you.

Or...you could just call/PM me.
Not to be a braggart or anything but I have a surfeit of experience in sourcing coverage around the globe.

Odeon cinemas show some F1 races in full uninterrupted HD coverage on the big screen in London.

Havnt tried it yet has anyone else? I always find my living too comfortable with less popcorn on the floor but with James Allen... (on the telly not floor unfourtunately)

hey jp, was waiting for you to get here! i was actually going to suggest in my last post that you would be able to help this thread out a lot...didn't want to be so presumptuous tho tongue.gif

@Tenmantaylor: i went to the first one last year at odeon angel, it was ok, the picture quality wasn't amazing, it was certainly not HD (and can't be with the equipment most cinemas have), but the sound was impressive. bernie is still doing it, you can see the listings here: http://www.f1incinema.com/bookings.php

Actually, it would be quite nice if Autosport had a forum or page dedicated to something like this.

I had it bookmarked from the day I saw it.
Only just had the time to reply the other day.
I will add this thread to my "topics I am watching" and try to contribute when applicable.

Cheers djned

Looking for public watering holes around the world to see the race LIVE.

That's going to be tough here in London, but surely somebody is opening at 6am for the pre-race. Other cities should be a bit easier. Share what you know!

ESPN Bar in Times Square: pain in the arse area to walk through, but they have about a million screens and will show anything you request. Get there early enough and you can order a booth, which gives you sound as well.

Give it a shot at a local sports bar in my home town of Nyköping, and they'd think you were kidding ;) F1 is as popular in Sweden as Icehockey in England :\

Hi,

I live in US, but have been temporarily relocated to Toulouse, France since a couple of weeks ago because of work. I am trying to find out the TV channel on which the 2009 Formula 1 is going to be shown in Toulouse, France. The biggest problem I have is the language. I don't know French frown.gif Even, if I manage to locate a TV channel, I am almost sure that it will be in French. Does anybody know if the BBC One is available in Toulouse? Also, does anybody know any podcast in English over the internet?

Thanks in advance for any information provided.

I wouldnt be against making this thread sticky (would reside atop the RC forum thread list) throughout the F1 season as I think it will provide a valuable service to people travelling and wanting to watch a grand prix.

I think the first post should be updated regularily with country/city and location to watch F1.

It should be about places to watch F1/motorsport and not a discussion about TV channels and coverage quality - these should remain in seperate threads associated with that country's broadcaster.

hey gerry - that would be cool. does making it a sticky take off the edit time limit on the OP? if so i am happy to maintain the list, there have been a few posts this week about various cities.

Im not sure. Try it now and see if you can edit.

If not, make a full update and post it in a new post. Then notify me of the post and I can copy and paste it into the original. up.gif
