On the other hand, I've just dominated an F1 '97 season on my way to securing my third public title and another Teams' title with three races still to go. That's the first time I've had a season like that on BATracer, where I seem to be the game's 'favoured one'.

And congrats for the 1997 season! Well done, 3 races to go is very very good!

And yeah, I wish I'd unchecked the WR box before joining a (public) GP2 game for the first time. My first try at DTM was nothing like as disastrous as this, lol. I just got to the end of Silverstone Feature just fine, but had crashed out or something from qualifying and could only work up to 15th or something from the back, nowhere near the points. That's one of the things about GP2 - right now, I keep on having 'unlucky' qualifying troubles or early retirements from feature races and therefore ruining my whole weekend because I can't work myself up enough places into the points positions in the sprint races which only go down to sixth. Without crashing. **scratches head**

I'd finished in P8 for the Feature and had utterly forgotten about the whole reverse grid thing, I'd been just so delighted to get my first in-race point!

In any case, that'll teach me to dither before rating people in future. I wasn't aware of that search limit.

When I join a game I usually add the team mate as a buddy so I can view his profile when needed.;)
#266
Posted 20 September 2009 - 15:28
I could've sworn that was his name when I looked at his main profile though, and that he'd signed up in 2009. Yet the search function only goes down to loads of inactive accounts registered in '06 or whenever. **shrugs**

Getting some unknown guy as teammate really is hit and miss, I've noticed recently.

Edit: I'm presuming not... sorry, all my public slots are full. I can never find any interesting mid-season slots, a bit frustrating when I'm on the other side of the divide and the person who does get there first to join me mid-season in a Pro public game is one of those people who constantly fade in and out of the game, who doesn't seem to value being there. This is ultra-addictive and exciting BATracer, what on Earth possesses people to repeatedly log in and not test?

I have only recently started teaming up with random teammates instead of the high quality clan buddies, and the experience has been fairly depressing, I think I could only say one out of four would qualify as properly good.

I've started a F1 2006 game #47885, with no password, if any one has any free private game slots they need to fill up.
Haven't played in absolutely ages. Joined as one of the Red Bulls.

How unbelievably petty

Reminds me of the whole thing that's always kept Ferraris out of the Gran Turismo series. So, what will happen to the Ferraris in the various F1 sets? They'll be 'Red Team' or something now, presumably.
The world is what it is on this kind of thing, but still, what a crying shame for BATracer.
I assume they'll be re-named but i wouldn't be surprised if the entires sets are ditched to prevent this occurring again, if FOM gets annoyed by Youtube clips no doubt they'd come down on Batracer just as bad.

I was 1 day away from winning a Ferrari Challenge game - no chance of that now
I know how Danny Glover feels......
You'll probably win something, it might just be an Arferri Challenge instead.

On a lighter note, I was doing pretty hideously in a Ferrari Challenge game at the time, although I was also leading an F1 '86 Teams' championship in one.

I take it you'll be removing the Facebook logo from your post here:Sadly when it comes to copyright infringements its a bit difficult prosecuting a corporation like Coke for using Ferrari branding to promote their product after they have turned a blind eye to BatRacer
http://forums.autosp...w...4304&st=240
Just in case Microsoft decide to use Facebook's logo illegally after they turned a blind eye to your post.
Alternatively why don't Ferrari (and you) just use common sense and judge each case of using Ferrari images on their own merit instead of comparing them to ridiculous scenarios.

But a free game, for what is for all intents and purposes nothing but fans bragging when they win, and how flock at the gates each time a new game start to pick up the Ferrari or McLaren as first choise?
Rules are rules, but what about granting blanket:
"Yes you can use Ferrari car sets under the following conditions, each car must only appear in the livery it did during the season it compete in. Thanks for choosing Ferrari, and come buy the real thing when you are tired of playing with virtual cars"
I just won a race yesterday in the Ferrari challenge, and is in the middle of a 1986 season piloting one :-(

They closed down the extremely popular Ferrari fan site www.theprancinghorse.co.uk the other day due to "trademark infringement" even though the site had been running for 6 years

As if I needed further reason to loathe that lot.
Do Ferrari really hold their fans in such contempt?
To be honest though, when I started playing the game over 3 years ago, I thought Bernie would shut it down within the year. I doubt his people are so ignorant as to not know it exists (too many motorsport websites have advertised that its out there) so perhaps they see value in it.

It looked like McLaren were finally going to pass a generic Italian car in BATracer land. But it was not to be, the crushing blow which Hamilton could have delivered was in tatters 20 laps into the race.

Unofficial: Got power back. Gota new (crap) router, after driving 40 miles and encountering no less than 3 road blocks (accidents, floods). Due to these delays, the website will most likely not be restored today. To make up for this several shortcuts will be taken to restore things more quickly. More news will be available in due course.

What I am peed off over is that I joined a pro F1 2009 season in the BMW cause all the good drives were gone. So I just went and set fastest practice time YAY! Then while eagerly awaiting if I could do the same thing in qualifying and get my first pole in my first F1 race the site goes down

Jules with 100,000 players+ must have made a cool million or two with all the advertisments and people buying car kits and out of those millions that have been made out of the name of the F1 teams how much of it has Ferrari seen ? none
For a guy to become a millionaire through a game and the teams that he has made all his money out of getting nothing I can see why this has been done, Sony have to pay huge licencing fees Jules should too

LOL some people attract Bernie's attention quicker than others but then again not every site has a group of enemies who try and undermine their efforts at every turn ;)

I wonder if Racing Live (Storm8 iPhone app) will be next? They, after all, make money and they've already been hit by Nissan.
