OK I'm lost. I've been trying to figure this out on my own but to no avail. I wanted to post a link in the youtube thread but I can't figure out how to add the link as the name of the band, like we used to. I've tried Quick Access and can't seem to get any of it to work right. What am I doing wrong?

I just figured it out. Sooo Never you mind! :)

It`s just unfortunate you didn`t choose vBulletin.
IMHO the best BB around, however, this is a big step forward.

I have something very strange to report.
Since I've been active on the AtlasF1 BB, I have never ever used the Ignore List for anybody.
Now, while I was scrolling through a thread, I saw that a certain poster was on my Ignore List

How did that happen?
I have not removed it yet.

Nice to see the upgrade from the ancient vBulletin version. Would have preferred to stay with vBulletin though, it is the best software out there.

Would be nice to have another theme too, this one looks quite boring tbh.

/me goes back to orange

Same as everything, it will take a little getting used to. I miss the little black dot in the "posted in" thing, though, the _| is a little less visible.

I think the 'retro' theme should be the default, the default blue theme is very yuck.

Anyway, site seems snappier, the forum works pretty much as well as it used to so no dramas here for me.

If, in peak times, the forum is more stable than it's all worth it really.

Musta been a pain doing the migration though, can't say I envy doing that job :)

It's now like the Forum has fitted a DDdiffuser to the server......... whooosh.

I hope it's legal?

Primer,
You can edit your sig. Go to My Controls, it's on the left, scroll down and you'll see it.

:D

I know! But when I tried to change the signature, the forum software rejected the change and gave the message 'signature too long'. No matter how short my signature was. Likely a temporary issue. I'll try again in a moment.

It is crap for performance. Too many cookies, too much javascript, waaay too many http requests. It is instantly recognizable, though. Which encourages people starting a newforum to choose Vb, thus establishing it as some kind of gold standard in BB software.

Feature wise, you can get pretty much everything with phpbb and invision too. The communities might be somewhat smaller compared to vB but there's no shortage of addons and such.

Looks much better - the old one was a bit tired.

And good to see the Autosport name up there finally, rather than Atlas.

Great job all round.

Well done.

Ok, sorry for botheration... figured out what the symbol is

Both should now be fixed. I am of course working through the points raised here and will try to accommodate the simpler things first where possible. Obviously the transfer was a complex process, so we will need a few days to tweak things now everything is up and running.

I can't seem to edit my posts in Racing comments either so it must be a setting somewhere.

Also, I find that links are almost invisible on the board. Can you make them underlined perhaps? Otherwise we're all going to have to learn to point them out to people. Not a problem as long as people know.

Any chance the search facility could be in the better place (unless of course I'm missing something here?)

Going through 'My Assistant' is a bit long winded perhaps?

Then I miss the "Go to the first unread post" button. It's tiresome to figure if I was on page 76 or 81 of a thread since I visited it.

I notice there's a rating function to each thread, and I see some have rated threads already.

I have the option as well, but it doesn't work for me. Perhaps it's being worked on & will be fully functional soon?

Aesthetically, it's not my thing (and yes, I have switched to the orange scheme). Too boxy, ordinary and the colours clash but so be it. The internet is full of this look. (my multimedia designer self goes ) I liked the almost retro-ish feel of the old board. However, this all moves faster and I guess that's what's most important to most folks.

Insofar as the functionality goes I haven't had any problems. The bugs have been pretty minimal from the looks of things. Good job on what appears to be a smooth switchover!

Any chance of enabling Who's Online now have the faster more upgraded software ?

Ten-Tenths has that enabled which is every bit as busy as Atlas so it would not unduly affect server performance, it is just handy to see when friends are online etc

There is a "Search" link just under the advert at the top of every page - underneath FORIX and F1 TESTING. Clicking pops up a search box.

That is the equivalent I believe. Unfortunately not every last bit of data could be preserved from the old system and that is one example. I built a lot of custom code to transfer things that would otherwise have been lost, however I'm afraid you will have to set this up again.

Oh no, everybody are going to be addressing me as Chicken McNugget... now. :( Actually, I like it. Good work. I like the judicious use of orange on the AtlasF1 'skin' as well. It's tasteful. If anything, to me it was the last design that you always got the impression hadn't been touched since 1998, regardless of whether that's very close to the truth or not.

Thanks, it is indeed possible to edit signatures. For sure you should focus on the core functionality issues first, most of which you have handled exremely well. The aesthetic complaints can be revisited later. :)

Congratulations on a job well done!

For sure we can edit our posts, and the button [Posted Image] is right next to the Posted Image button. However, there's a time limit in which we can edit our posts. Whether it is 5 minutes or 10 I haven't determined, too lazy! After that limit we cannot edit the posts, but only delete them.

Also, I find that links are almost invisible on the board. Can you make them underlined perhaps? Otherwise we're all going to have to learn to point them out to people. Not a problem as long as people know.

Underlined links would be gross. Perhaps a different, darker shade of color for links? (And also the color for background needs some attention, hopefully we'll get better skins later).

I would like to edit my post and remove the extra rows to improve readability and reduce size, but i can't find an edit-function for that post. Usually it was possible to edit posts at least a week or so after original post was made.

Ok, I have tweaked things to allow old posts to be edited to fix conversion issues. A time limit may return at some point though, as it was in place on the old software for a good reason.

Everything in life changes, and this is a change for the better. It should be welcomed!

If you have lost your comfort zone and need help you should

Try and focus on content (aka the posts) and not the minor differences in how it is being presented. You'll get used to it in no time.

Click on My Controls and click on Edit Avatar Settings. For sure you will have to re-upload your avatar in a larger size, the new maximum dimension limits are 90 x 90 pixels. The forum software will automatically resize it to that, or you can resize it yourself and then upload.

PS: The forum does not allow ninja-editing.

In the 'my controls' section it still says the avitar size is 50 x 50.

Perhaps this is all a conspiricy to keep a bigger Andrea De Cesaris from us all...

Autosport technicians, any answers on this would be appreciated.

Seeing the Atlas F1 logo changed to AUTOSPORT WITH CAPITAL LETTERS is pretty sad.

I agree just spent about an hour looking at stuff. It might be better but I had just kinda got my head around the old one.
Why does it look like 10 tenths.
