i read in this link - http://www.grandprix....org/auto_c.htm about the tests that the auto-union team did .
i have a few questions -
1) where this German Institute for Aerodynamics was based ?
2) is there any more info & pics from those tests ?
3) what about Mercedes , did they do it as well or that they had their own windtunnel ?
thanks for all the great help that i get here

2. There are results and pictures about those tests. (what are you interested in?)
3. MB used the same windtunnels in Berlin and Friedrichshafen (Zeppelin) than AU.
I know, that AU prepared some tests with scale models in Zwickau, therefore I believe MB did the same in Stuttgart.

My father was a panel beater for the pre-war Mercedes GP team, but had to get out of Germany in a hurry, as he was Jewish. Unfortunately, he didn't retain any photos, nor talk much about working for Mercedes. He passed away in 1980

These were no windtunnel tests, but tests to check the radiator cooling.
