I have not seen it mentioned elsewhere or here, but Octane magazine reports that Ken Rudd, racer and specialist tuner of ACs via his Ruddspeed business, died on August 29.

Oh Dear !
Yet another of the once famous innovators has left us .
Rudds also converted some of the late 50s early 60s Alfas to RHD.

He was probably the first to develop the B18 over here, and he was the driving force behind the AC Ace Ford with his engine mods when the Bristol was getting long in the tooth, the other source being the Raymond Mays conversions. He also did Ruddspeed Healey 3000s. ISTR that Simon Taylor did the AC Ace book so it will be well covered.

Try going to www.acheritage.co.uk for some great images of Ken at the 1957 Le Mans and Goodwood Revival 2008.
