According to Martin Brundle during the Abu Dhabi broadcast, the Mercedes car - then known as Brawn, of course - is going to look more like the RB5 than the BGP-001.Some Adrian Newey influences are already visible.

Nick´s salary is too much for Peter. A cheaper driver with experience and a lot of desire (de la Rosa) should be Koba´s partner.
Maybe already stated in the thread, but didn't Heidfeld have a valid contract with Sauber [or ex BMW Sauber] for 2010?
Or was this cancelled when BMW sold their shares?

Some more of your made up news?
Like,
Is this why Peter gifted him a car?
Is this why Peter is Godfather to one of his kids?
Is that the reason he and Patricia were at Peter's Christmas party on Dec 19th?
Keep up the good work...

I asked because I didn't find that preview image on the Sauber website, and you mention a 2channel user thing. So the image is an official picture? Published then taken down? Or just a 3D art by a Japanese user? No such picture on the Sauber website right know, to my knowledge.New Sauber website I linked.

I believe Kubica already had a valid contract, but I believe the contracts were terminated when BMW announced they were pulling out.

Except they already sponsor McLaren.

Nespresso don't sponsor McLaren, so I don't see why it would be a problem. But, like the article says, it's just a rumour.

They are suppliers for McLaren, not a sponsor. Meaning: no brand logos on car, team uniforms, etc.

Joe Saward says:
There are reports coming out of Switzerland that Nestle will become a major sponsor of the Sauber team year – using its Nespresso brand
The latest rumours from Switzerland suggest that the team has now settled on the idea of having Pedro de la Rosa as its lead driver.

I'm not going to go on about this again, but money aside, I don't see how having PdlR will be of any real benefit to Sauber.

Maybe they prefer de la Rosa over Heidfeld 'cause he Spaniard looks more similar to George Clooney... ;P
There's no doubt PdlR is a sponsors team.
Handsome, PR friendly etc etc.
But I just don't think he's up to it, especially aged 39.

Either that, or we'll get Blue and Brown, which is just horrible.

The company has never pushed for a major sporting sponsorship and seem to be quite happy with their McLaren brand association.
Would seem unusual for Nestle to suddenly make a major push into F1 like this.

Why should it have any blue?If Nespresso becomes the Sauber title sponsor, then it looks unlikely we'll have blue Saubers.
Either that, or we'll get Blue and Brown, which is just horrible.

Like this:
Just without the Petronas and Red Bull bits, and the light blue replaced with the sponsor's colours.
I'm not saying it SHOULD have blue.

Why should it have any blue?
Blue is regarded by many as the 'house colours' of Sauber ;)

Ok, well, either way no one prevents a company from sponsoring more than one team (example: Santander). And I really do think that the sandy picture of the new car could be a hint here. Fingers crossed - this team needs and deserves a major sponsor.

Maybe their McLaren contract has ended and they believe they'll get more bang for thier buck with title sponsorship. Another possiblity is that Jenson may have brought Monster along with him, and they might become McLaren's drinks supplier, therefore Nescafe will not be needed.

What was the last brown car in F1? Must've been the Fondmetals or something. It's not a very popular color!
Maybe 'cause it looks like sh*t?;) j/k. At least we get a completely new livery to look forward to.

I said Nespresso, not Nescafe. Different names.;)
I really don't think a company life Nestle would sponsor two teams with two different brands.

McLaren drink crappy instant coffee in their motorhome?
Haha, yeah right, sure they do NOT!
It will be the finest $1000/kg blend for McLaren surely, with "Nescafe" stickers on their espresso machine for "appearences" -> McLaren
