"But it's not about setting targets. It's about enjoying the journey." - Lewis Hamilton.

That's gonna become one of those famous F1 quotes I reckon. Like Senna's "Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose." or "I have no idols. I admire work, dedication and competence. "

I like it,
This shows (once again) that Lewis is able to see the bigger picture,
like he does at his search for a new manager,
like his comments what he is going to do after his F1 career, etc
It's not all about drving fast , and he knows.

Perhaps the McLaren experiment is not as flawed as they MW & Co) think :)

Nice comment from hamilton re: alonso's comments:

Meanwhile, Hamilton insists that recent criticisms from Alonso, who also said the last race in Valencia was "manipulated" by the introduction of the safety car, have not got to him. "It doesn't worry me," he says. "I'll just keep focused on my job. We're all feeling the pressure. It's the most intense season so far for all of us.

"You've seen even with me this year ... when you put your whole heart and passion into it you are not always correct with what you say. I had that experience in Australia, you know, so we all do it."

While the safety car argument rumbles on, Lewis gets to grips with the important matters in hand.

looks like Lewis is firmly in her 'slipstream', or is he trying to break the 'tow' with that hand

Discussing about aerodynamics , moveable rear wings, XYZ-ducts etc, what do you want? :D
the fotos only show , that Lewis is always learning, exercysing and trying to improve his skills, and getting stronger
even in his spare time

Funny thing,
Lewis and Alonso have already claryfied their issues

We messaged the other day and things are cool," Hamilton told Press Association Sport.
"I messaged him to see how he was doing. He said everything's cool, that he knows how the racing world works and this is a tough year."

and he is more relaxed and enjoys life more than ever:

Hamilton, though, appreciates he has to start enjoying his life a little more as his three years in Formula One have so far flashed by in a blur.
"I am trying to put things in place where I have more time to rest and relax," said Hamilton.
"I'm 25, and before I know it I'll be 30. Time is just going to blow past so I really, really want to make sure I enjoy.

I never had that much doubt that they would be over it fairly quickly. It's just a few fans that cannot get over it, and it's quite amusing to see how desperate their attacks become.

Some people can only relate to what they would feel themselves and naturally assume everyone else must be the same. Usually with that line of thinking the hit rate is well below 30 percent...

Plus I dare say the shoe might be on the other foot quicker than you can say "How the hell did Button manage to finish in front of Hamilton in the WDC  ?"

;)

I like how it was Lewis who made the first move, even though he didn't do anything wrong. Maturity? I think so.

Or just to tell the press about it afterwards. At the end on the day, it's a personal message that he made public isn't it?

The way his answer was structured it's more likely he was interviewed by the magazine and they asked him about his and Alonso's relationship. And he answered telling them about their recent contact. Also it's not like he published the exact message is it  .

Nice to hear: http://planet-f1.com...d-to-British-GP

I don't understand how suddenly their relationship is fragile. I always thought they were very, very close. The way they worked as a team since Lewis was 8 and all that. They seemed to have a genuine bond. Now suddenly, they don't get along, for no clear reason.

his dad is prolly a bit pissed he isnt the manager anymore.

I can see it from both sides..
Ham. Snr prolly sacrificed more than most other F1 dads to get his kid there, now he'd love to be there in the midst of the action and reaping the benefits as a manager.

Lewis on the other hand, probably understands this but thinks its time to break free and start becoming his own man...hence a rift.
No matter how cool your dad might be, you'd struggle to find kids that want theirs around every step of the way.

nways, none of my business...atleast it hasnt affected his driving

Yes, that's the main thing. I was worried it might, but I think he's been driving better this year than ever.

The bond is still there, for sure, just a stage along the way for them. Independence was bound to happen, and with two such strong personalities and so close it was always likely to be a clash really. But temporary.

We don't know, perhaps there have been different reasons,
and it was better for both of them to keep each other at some distance, before their relationship could have been basically wrecked
It looks like they have put their things somehow together again
I guess it was not easy for Anthony to see his son has grown up and don't need him as much as in earlier years.
And Lewis some weeks ago said ,he wants to have his das as dad, after all this years his das had been (above all) his manager.

If Lewis wins another title that will eat Alonso up imho. Coz now it is Alonso one up in the title winnings, but if Lewis wins more titles that Alonso by the end of their careers, and I'd not be surprised if that were so, Alonso may end up insane!

How many other F1 drivers had fathers who were so integral in their son's F1 career? So, you know exactly what I'm on about.

Let's put aside Hamilton's cheating ways on the track and examine two other areas that speak to his character: 1) He's cheated on his girlfriends and 2) He's cheated on his taxes by moving to Switzerland -- unless you're naive enough to think that it was only about "privacy." If that's the case, then poor Lewis can move here to the States and I guarantee you that nobody would recognize him.

Obviously, I don't like Hamilton. I think he's a complete phony, ungrateful and a cheat. Besides that minor stuff, I think he's a swell guy. :rotfl:
