I am starting this post off with a Mystery Picture.
The cowboy hat that Pete Lyons is wearing were given out on each table, they are to honor Carroll Shelby, he was the Legends 2010 honored guest.

That is fellow forum member Pete Lyons talking to someone whose father was a Formula One Driver in the day. Those beautiful cowgirls that are in this photo are his wife and daughters.

Guess who this is.

The Great Denise McLuggage and Dave Nicholas
Dave is known on the forum as Miracle Man. Denise is responsible for founding Competition Press, now known as Autoweek. She did this in her garage with her own effort.

That is Linda Vaughn he is conversing with.

Dave Nicholas gets the award for coming the furthest. He hails from Hawaii. It looks like the trip was worth it.

Joe Playan and Lew Spencer
Joe Playan was very instrumental in a group called the RRR. They tried to bring professional road racing to Southern California. For this he was barred from racing for a year.

Lew Spencer raced a Morgan he called Baby Doll, he also was the head sales person on the Cobra for Shelby and was a Team manager for the TransAm effort for Shelby.

T-54 don't tell them who it is yet. And it is always great to be able to dine with you.

Bret is Dr Bret Ginther Emergency Physician. His mother was Jackie Ginther.

I am sure his dad Richie Ginther would be very proud of what a fine family his son has raised. Everyone who met them couldn't belive how Lovely they are.

This is at the autograph table. That good looking "Honey" behind Howden is Sandra Fitzpatrick who was a great sport lending support to the boys all weekend long.

I tried to get Sandra involved in the business of appetizer tasting. The boys were in the back of the room. I told her she needed to move where the appetizers were coming around.

This great event brought together friends who hadn't seen each other in over 40 years.

One of the co-founders of this event was greatly missed. Dave Wolin became ill the day before he was due to come and has told me he won't miss the event next year and he is feeling much better now.

What a weekend! My head was spinning! Where do you start? Great to meet Jerry and T54:

Posted Image Posted Image

Me with T54, Jerry Entin, and Frank Lance (thanks for many photo ops, Jerry) (Scooter Patrick talking to Lois Bryant in the background)/ Doug Stokes (organizer) with Lois Bryant and T54

Many participants stayed at our hotel. Chatted there with Denise McCluggage, Jerry Grant, and Dave Friedman, had breakfast with Harvey Lassiter, Lou Sell, and Lew Spencer, and shared the computer room with Howden Ganley. Howden was trying to follow the Australian GP on the internet, but eventually gave up on the computer!

More later!

Jerry , What a Wonderful event, great photos and people at the Legends of Riverside II. Thanks to Albert Wong for the great photo of Lois Bryant, widow of Famed Can Am Designer Peter Bryant. This great trophy is made with Ti22 sheet pieces , representing the Ti22 Can Am car Peter designed. Agreed Howden Ganley was indeed a most fitting recipient. Peter Bryant would have been pleased.
Three Cheers !!!

Jerry, this is obviously a fabulous event that has attracted so many legends. Can the public obtain access to it, or is it invite only? The photos show a good attendance, but most if not all attendees appear to have celeb status to varying degrees!!!

After extensive negotiations, Shelby Automobiles International has re-assumed its glory-years designation as "Shelby American". The Shelby Store now incorporates the former Shelby Performance Parts. I don't know exactly whose display this was, but it certainly seems to have "SHELBY" written all over it.

Life interfered with my hope of attending all three days, but during the hour or so I could be there on Friday, I did have a peak experience: a few words with Pete and Lorna Lyons, who allowed me to interrupt their setting-up activities to show I can actually make a (sort of) sharp photo of Pete.

Other than a few "establishing shots" of museum and special-appearance cars, and the lobby displays, that's about all I can contribute.

Cheers!
