The Union Jack part of the Australian National Flag was on the left when it should have been on the right when presented on its side!

Well for starters our flag is a national embaressment, why the hell we have someone else's flag in the corner of our own beggars belief. Not to mention it looks like NZ's, Hong Kong's and a few other commonwealth countries.
I don't care if it's a ****ing Kangaroo with a VB in it's pouch, someone please ... change the ****ing flag.

The German Flag was also incorrect!
The black band is on the top when displayed horizontally and should be presented on the right when displayed vertically. Yesterday it was Black first.
I'm not too sure about the SPANISH flag as yesterday it featured a coat of arms which would have been displayed back to front in its OWN country!
Anyone able to provide an image of yesterdays podium to prove my point?

Just to nitpick, it's not called Union Jack, but Union Flag, the former is a naval-term if memory serves me right, and it also served as a call for help if it was flown upside-down. It's hard to see at first, but there's a subtle difference in the white lines that if it's flown upside-down would be wrong.I didn't think Australians hated their flag. As a Canadian I think our old flag with the Union Jack looks way cooler

And in Malaysia, it's not correct as Webber has a German flag and Rosberg an Australian.

I know. But the term 'Jack' today should be considered slang, or something that was used in maritime conditions. The fact that King Charles named the flag 'Union Flag' in 1634 still stands and have never been officially changed."The Union Flag, also known as the Union Jack, is the flag of the United Kingdom."

Ah! I did not spot that. Thanks.Union Jack - check this image http://en.wikipedia....ted_Kingdom.svg
Look at the red diagonally lines - notice the top line is different to the bottom. Also the white Diagonal lines feature different weights.
to compare the difference visit this page http://en.wikipedia....ns_for_flag_use
Traditionally, flying a flag upside down is understood as a distress signal.
