How very sad, a great Yorkshireman, stalwart of the club and international scene in both sportscars and single seaters. He is pictured here at the Gold Cup F5000 40th anniversary re-union last year..........

As said above, a true enthusiast.
Forgive the pedantry but I thought it was Twaites. I have been corrected on it previously

Thanks for the corrections Tony and Roger, I have edited my original post but I assume that I have to ask Twinny to edit the thread title.

I remember watching Trevor in his Chevron (B8?) at Brands as well as his F5000 forays, and he always seemed to me to be a solid and reliable performer.

I was privelidged to meet Trevor at last years Race Retro and put HSCC in touch with him to get him invited to the F5000 do.

He was a true gent to talk to. Enthusiastic and modest about his part in the sport.

If Twinny alters the thread title I am happy for the deletion of my post

I've met Trevor Twaites once, in the paddock of the 6 Hours of Vallelunga, then a round of the World Sportscar Championship, in 1973 (oh... 37 years ago!!!).
He shared a Chevron B23 (yellow-painted, if I remember well...) with the Irish big-sideburns Brendan McInerney. They finished 12th, many laps behind the winning Matra of Pescarolo-Larrousse-Cevert.

RIP
