Instead of adding these to existing threads, I thought I'd start a new one dedicated to photos from current Historic race meetings, starting with yesterdays Masters Top Hat Race Day at Mallory Park.

Start of the Cloth Cap/XK Challenge

Paul Campfield was very entertaining taking most of Gerrards sideways....

....and if there's no space to overtake, just use the grass!

Several cars had also been out at Goodwood, including Henry Mann's Ford Prefect.
Posted Image

Henry also spent a lot of time getting his Mustang sideways.

Jeremy Cooke's Martini Porsche RSR looked and sounded good :)

Jag fins.

I've put a few more photos on Flickr and will add more later.

I did a double take on this one! Great photo with the XK morphing into the D-Type.

I know the esteemed Barrie Williams is driving but I wonder why "historics" have to end up damaged in ways such as this.

Are we watching Historic Racing or a throwback to 60s Club Racing?

Barrie didn't do the damage, he was sharing the car with Andy Harrison.

I must admit I didn't expect the racing to be as hard as it was. There were quite a few cars with battle scars at the end of the day. Having said that, there was some good driving. For instance Henry Mann spent much of the time in his Mustang sideways and the whole of the Oldies race in the Prefect dicing with at least 3 or 4 other cars without touching anything.

How did Patrick Watts and Jim McDougal do in their Mustang? Both a couple of Kent gentlemen (or were) .
