I would plump for the Race of Champions at Brands, March 1965. Mike did run with no. 6 elsewhere that year but it looks like the entry to Druids, with a narrow verge, relatively tight lock on the steering etc. I don't think it's either Goodwood of the GP at Silverstone, two other British races where he carried no. 6. Could be completely wrong!

If it was 1965 ROC...Spence won on aggregate with Lotus 33/R9
As you say No6

OK..........I had the answer at my fingertips with Peter Darley's bible..'Jim Clark : Life at Team Lotus'.
I now know this because he has just rung me......

John W was right.....ROC 1965
but Paddock Hill Bend
Chassis was R11 not R9

QED.

Brands yes, but I don't think it is Druids. More like Paddock Hill Bend. The spectator bank at Druids was higher than in this picture. I am looking at another photo which is definitely Paddock Hill and sure enough there is Ferodo and Dunlop advertising.

Chassis was R11 not R9

The F1R Black Book and DCN's Theme Lotus both say R9.

Mr Darley called again !

R11 was a spare car for Spence.......recognisable by a higher exhaust system
The photo could be either R9 or R11 as you can't see the exhaust !

Did Spence drive R11? I know Clark did and with a T number.
