This thread is in reply to the crashfest going on in another thread. Rather than drool over "great" accidents, how about a thread devoted to great saves instead? I'll start with my nominee as one of the good ones. I'm not saying it's the best ever, but it came to mind as I thought about moments that revealed some pretty smart driving:

In this instance you are correct, it was Berger, not Senna who'd retired after 4 laps or so.
It was misjudged, but no less spectacular for it!
But yeah, Senna did push several rivals off, squeeze them or pulled a "brake test" on them, his legacy is known for those moments.

There was one by Hakkinen around 99, he put his car on the track, car wanted to spin so he turned the wheel other way and the balance matched perfectly so the car was going straight forward while an angle about 40 degrees different then the direction it was heading for relatively long time. No idea how to find it on youtube

i remember hakkinen doing a 360 spin over grass in an extremly wet race and rejoining almost perfects back on the race track, i cant remember what race though it must have been the late 90s maybe monza or silverstone
