Poll should be self-explanatory...

Which is your favourite modern-day sportscar series? One and only...

Must say there's some series here I haven't even heard of! Now I'm not one for sportscars, but I thought I knew the biggest ones.

The only one I really watch is the FIA GT1, its short enough to watch the whole thing, and nicely convenient to watch online :)

I used to like WRC but since they race mini coopers and killed the group C cars my love kind of waned.

Indy cars pre-2000

Difficult choice, I choice ILMC.

The ALMS is not what it was due to the loss of LMP1 teams, although the Dyson and Muscle battle is interesting if only for the differences with the engines. Still, the GT field and races remain some of the best. And it must be said that on numerous occasions has the lead battle for all classes has gone to the final lap!!

FIA GT1 has either brilliant or just plain boring races right. A lack of cars and competition make it less appealing than it should be.

If we were to chose races it would be even harder. I love the 24hour of Daytona as much as Le mans, as much as Sebring as much as Petit Le mans!

Had to choose between ALMS and SuperGT... went for ALMS because of tv coverage and the circuits. SuperGT cars are mentally cool, but certainly within the GT category in ALMS there's a good amount of works/semi-works cars, and the competition is really good.

They're all impossible to watch in Canada without wasting much more money than I have on satellite TV, but FIA GT1 has the right idea with the ability to watch whole races on TV. I only really watch Le Mans and Petit Le Mans anymore, which is a shame.

This is an easy one. Super GT. The best looking cars and the best racing.

And now you can watch it online

None, gone are the days of power over traction, they are simply too good to offer any excitement.

LMS leading? Wasn't actually expecting that, thou some voters might have confused it with Le Mans itself...

ALMS for me, despite the lacking prototype field and challenge classes it's still very awesome, best GT2 grid in the world and wonderful circuits

Which is why it was a difficult choice.

If the GT grid was a series on its own, it would perhaps be one of the most amazing racing series to watch. I was always a prototype guy myself but as I've matured and begun to appreciate motorsport for what it is, I've started to more tend toward the GT field.

I was thinking the same hardly anyone is interested the LMS usually.
Like ALMS very much but voted for WEC as it has the Big one on the calendar and the ALMS rounds I like.

I think many chose the LMS simply because it is the only one they see. Prototypes are king in sports car racing, and they attract the fans. And with the top prototype teams running in races in the series, that is who they tune in for.

Plus, what European watches ALMS? Not because of interest, or lack thereof, but of coverage.

Umm ALMS is broadcasted in Europe via Motors TV and stream can be seen via alms.com... in fact the coverage is better than for LMS (even with this new TV deal)

Anything that looks and ssounds like REAL racing cars: 908's, 917's, 956's, 962's, Le2's and so on.

Porsches, Ferraris, Lancia's.

The silent vaccum cleanes of today just suck and the pit stops are so clean sparse - sports cars these days are sports C-ARSE

Can-Am 1966-1974 beats any of the current series hollow.

Definitely the early 70s :Can-am and Interserie. There be Monsters.

Here's some great footage of 1972 Interserie cars at Keimola in the rain. How slippery? Check out the pace car trying to stop at the start of race 2.

Absolutely!

I'll add that IMSA in the 1980s was fun to watch as well...
